The Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions are facing off in a crucial NFC North matchup during the last week of the 2026 NFL regular season. Our player props for the Vikings vs. Lions game in Week 18 are focusing on some lesser-known players who could make a big impact in this divisional showdown, according to the latest NFL odds from top sportsbooks.

The Minnesota Vikings, with a record of 7-9, are still clinging to a slim chance of making the playoffs. However, the Detroit Lions, standing at 11-5, will be starting their usual lineup for Sunday’s game, even though they would need a minor miracle to secure the second seed in the NFC.

Detroit has secured the NFC North title, but would need a lot of unexpected events in the NFC East to secure the No. 2 seed. Even though it’s a slim chance, head coach Dan Campbell plans to play his regular starting lineup in a display of motivation for Week 18 in the NFL.

Conversely, Minnesota is determined to maintain its chances of making the NFL playoffs by giving their all, and it is likely that Kevin O’Connell will attempt to pass the ball frequently in this crucial game.

Nick Mullens is favored to throw over 1.5 passing touchdowns with +100 odds on DraftKings, earning a three-star rating.

The player props market for Week 18 is not very extensive, with only two of the top five sports betting apps offering a passing touchdown prop on Mullens. DraftKings has the best price, which seems quite generous given the low bar set for the Vikings QB.

I am not a big supporter of Mullens, who is considered one of the NFL’s lowest-ranked passers by almost any measure. However, the experienced sixth-year player has managed to throw two touchdowns in each of his two starts this year. Additionally, he came off the bench last week and added another touchdown in just 29 snaps against the Packers.

He is expected to have a full start against a struggling Detroit secondary that is dealing with injuries and a lack of talent. The Lions have given up 27 passing touchdowns this season, the sixth-highest in the NFL. They have allowed multiple passing touchdowns in two consecutive games and in eight out of 16 games overall. I believe there is a good chance of this happening again on Sunday, with odds being 50/50.

There is a +1200 odds for Craig Reynolds to score a touchdown according to bet365, and it has a three-star rating.

The Lions are publicly stating that they will play their starters on Sunday, but realistically, it is uncertain if Campbell will take the risk of playing his best players for the entire game, considering the unlikely scenario of securing the NFC’s No. 2 seed.

If star running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs are unable to play on Sunday due to injuries, Reynolds would be the next in line to step up. As the only other Lions running back with significant carries this season, Reynolds has shown his ability to make an impact, including scoring a touchdown in a previous game against the Carolina Panthers.

The main attraction is definitely the price. Reynolds is currently priced at +700 to +900 to score on our top sports betting websites, which seems like a great value bet that may not fully consider the Lions’ best interests on Sunday.
