Today’s NBA Player Props and Best Bets for Wednesday’s Schedule: Picks
The Eastern Conference is gearing up to participate in the exciting NBA Play-In Tournament, and we have identified the top player props and best bets for Wednesday’s games based on the most favorable NBA odds.
The NBA season begins on Wednesday with the Philadelphia 76ers (47-35) and Joel Embiid facing off against the Miami Heat (46-36), a team that was once considered a sure bet to make the NBA Play-In Tournament.
The first game of the evening is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 76ers are favored by 5 points on our top sports betting sites, thanks to the dynamic duo of Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, who we highlighted in our Heat vs. 76ers player props preview.
After their previous game, the Atlanta Hawks (36-46) will travel to the United Center in Chicago, Illinois to face the Chicago Bulls (39-43), who are favored by 3 points at home. This matchup, as mentioned in our Hawks vs. Bulls player props, could be a bit messy, but the Bulls will try to defeat the Hawks at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Wednesday’s NBA player props
Bet on Joel Embiid to grab more than 11.5 rebounds against the Heat at -104 odds on FanDuel. This pick is rated three stars.
Embiid’s comeback to the 76ers lineup has been impressive, resembling a fit Charles Barkley with his dominant performance. Before his injury, he was a favorite for the NBA MVP title. Despite missing 29 games, the seven-time All-Star returned for five of the final seven games, showing his dominance in the last three games.
Scoring against the Heat may be challenging due to their strong defense, with Miami ranking third in the NBA in points allowed at 108.4. However, Embiid has the opportunity to dominate the boards against them. The Heat are ranked 26th in rebounds per game at 42.3 and give up the 11th-most defensive rebounds to their opponents this season at 33.5.
Embiid is currently averaging 11 rebounds per game this season, with 12 boards per game in his last three regular-season appearances. Despite Bam Adebayo playing at the center position for the Heat, opposing centers are still able to grab an average of 14.21 rebounds per game. This is why the odds from FanDuel hold significant value.
At our other top sports betting apps, the odds for this prop are as low as -125, indicating a 55.56% chance that Embiid will exceed the set total. However, at FanDuel, a $10 wager would result in a $9.62 profit.
Bet365 has set the line for Jimmy Butler scoring under 23.5 points against the 76ers with +100 odds, earning a three-star rating.
Typically, going against Jimmy Butler in the playoffs would draw criticism from basketball experts, but at 34 years old, Butler hasn’t been performing at his usual level.
Despite leading the Heat in points per game this season with 20.8, his 2-point and free-throw attempts decreased as Tyler Herro, Terry Rozier, and Bam Adebayo took on more offensive responsibilities. The six-time All-Star appears to have adopted a more emo persona, as evidenced by his recent lackluster performances.
Butler’s performance in his last three games has been underwhelming, scoring 15 points or fewer. He only scored more than 23.5 points in 18 out of 60 games this season, making it an outlier at bet365. His odds to hit the Under are as low as -131 at other top sportsbooks.
With odds indicating a 56.71% chance, Butler is expected to hit the Under against the 76ers, who are ninth in points allowed in the NBA and limit small forwards to 20.5 points per game. Betting $10 on this outcome will result in a $20 payout if Butler scores less than 24 points.
DeMar DeRozan is expected to score over 29.5 points against the Hawks, with odds of -102 on DraftKings. This is a four-star prediction.
After Zach LaVine’s season-ending injury, the Bulls’ playoff aspirations seemed to be in jeopardy. However, DeMar DeRozan stepped up like a modern-day Michael Jordan, carrying the team on his shoulders and keeping their postseason dreams alive.
DeRozan, who is 34 years old, had an impressive season averaging 24 points per game. He finished the year with an incredible performance, scoring over 30 points in six of his last eight games and averaging 30.2 points per game during that stretch.
He is expected to keep up his high scoring against a Hawks defense that seems to be lost on the court. Atlanta gives up the third-highest points per game in the NBA (120.5) and has the 27th worst defensive rating (119.4).
In Chicago, DeRozan is classified as a power forward, but his position hardly matters since the Hawks give up the eighth-highest number of points per game to power forwards (24.74) and the second-highest to small forwards (22.67). With odds of -115, there is a 53.48% chance he will exceed this prop bet, which will pay out $19.80 with our odds.
Bet on Trae Young to have less than 37.5 points + rebounds + assists against the Bulls, odds at -115 on FanDuel ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Hawks are arguably the weakest team in the NBA postseason based on their roster. For those who appreciate the fundamentals of basketball, watching this team can be compared to watching a high-scoring football team that struggles to play defense. It’s entertaining to see them score, but it would be more satisfying if they could also make stops on defense.
The absence of Trae Young for 23 games undoubtedly impacted the Hawks’ entertainment value, and even upon his return for the final three games, his performance was underwhelming. The team concluded the regular season with six consecutive losses, three of which Young played in, during which the All-Star only averaged 28 combined points, rebounds, and assists.
It is a significant challenge to anticipate him regaining his previous performance against the Bulls in a crucial game. The Bulls have limited opposing point guards to the fourth-lowest points per game (23.01) and fourth-lowest rebounds (5.67) in the NBA this season. The odds for Young hitting the Under are as short as -127, suggesting a 55.95% chance, but FanDuel offers a payout of $18.70.
The top NBA bets were placed on Wednesday at 10:20 a.m. ET.
