Records at the Super Bowl could potentially be broken when the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the San Francisco 49ers in the upcoming Big Game on Sunday. We are analyzing the NFL odds to make our predictions on which historical records may be surpassed.

The 58th edition of the Super Bowl is scheduled to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, 2024, showcasing an exciting showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. According to the Super Bowl odds, the 49ers are the favored team.

During the last season, Kadarius Toney, a wide receiver for the Chiefs, briefly held the record for the longest punt return in Super Bowl history. This marked the first major individual record in the Super Bowl since Tom Brady threw for 505 yards in Super Bowl LI.

Although it is unlikely that any Super Bowl records will be broken on Sunday, placing bets on them can add excitement as the game approaches. It is recommended to make small bets, as breaking these records is rare.

We have already analyzed the top Super Bowl rematch props for these teams, but are there any records that could potentially be broken in Super Bowl 2024?

In addition to our predictions for the Chiefs vs. 49ers game and the Super Bowl, we are also providing our forecasts for Super Bowl records and NFL picks based on the most favorable prop bet odds from our top Super Bowl betting sites. Confidence levels are rated on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.

What Super Bowl records are likely to be broken?

4 or more touchdowns, with odds of +1800 on DraftKings, rated 2 stars.

Jalen Hurts most recently played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023.

Seven players have achieved the impressive milestone of scoring three touchdowns in a single Super Bowl game. Just last year, Hurts joined this elite group by rushing for three touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs.

This game showcases Christian McCaffrey, one of the NFL’s most prolific touchdown scorers in history. With a total of 81 career touchdowns, including 25 this season, McCaffrey has proven to be a consistent scoring threat. In addition, he has scored two touchdowns in each of the playoff games he has played in.

However, McCaffrey is not the sole player capable of scoring four touchdowns in this game. Travis Kelce has also scored three touchdowns this postseason. Additionally, players such as Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Isiah Pacheco could also potentially achieve this feat.

It’s unlikely we’ll witness a player scoring four touchdowns on Super Bowl Sunday, but if any record is at risk of being broken, it’s this one. Take a chance and place a wager on DraftKings for some added excitement.

205 rushing yards (odds of +3000 on DraftKings) ⭐

Timmy Smith of Washington set a record in 1988.

McCaffrey has yet to achieve a 200-yard rushing game, but could this change on the grand stage of the NFL? His career-high stands at 184 yards, achieved in 2018. The 49ers’ game plan will be intriguing – will Kyle Shanahan rely more on McCaffrey and less on his young quarterback? With the opposing defense allowing 4.5 yards per rush, McCaffrey has a solid chance of breaking his record.

However, Pacheco is likely the most promising candidate to break this record. The sophomore player achieved a career-best 130 rushing yards in Week 17 of the current season. Throughout the postseason, he has carried the ball 24 times in two out of three games.

The Detroit Lions had a successful rushing game last week against the 49ers, accumulating 182 yards with an impressive average of 6.3 yards per carry. If the Chiefs manage to take a lead in this upcoming game, Pacheco could potentially exploit the opposing defense, which has been giving up an average of 4.3 rushing yards per attempt.

A total of 216+ receiving yards (with odds of +3000 on DraftKings) ⭐

Jerry Rice of the San Francisco 49ers set a record in 1989.

We are most excited about the possibility of breaking the record for most receptions. Despite both teams being strong at running the ball, the NFL is predominantly a passing league. Both teams have players capable of making a high number of receptions, particularly if they exploit favorable matchups. However, since the receptions record is not offered on our top sports betting apps, we are focusing on the record for receiving yards instead.

In this game, only George Kittle has surpassed 200 yards in a single game, achieving 210 against the Denver Broncos in 2018. While it seems improbable that he or any of the 49ers’ players could break this record, there are several players on the Chiefs’ team who have the potential to reach this milestone.

While the 49ers distribute the ball evenly, Patrick Mahomes is comfortable targeting a single mismatch. In the previous game, Travis Kelce caught 11 passes for 116 yards and Rashee Rice had eight receptions for 46 yards. It is possible that either of these players could exploit a mismatch against a defense that has difficulty stopping teams when they are unable to pressure the quarterback. Considering the potential outcome, it may be worth considering placing a bet on this scenario.
