In the first four rounds of the NCAA Tournament, Caitlin Clark has been a standout performer for the top-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes (33-4). She will look to continue her impressive display on Friday when they face the third-seeded UConn Huskies (33-5) in the second game of the women’s Final Four. The game is scheduled to tip off at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
In her most recent game, Clark scored 41 points and dished out 12 assists to lead Iowa to an exciting victory over LSU in the Elite Eight. Despite her impressive performance, the Hawkeyes are currently ranked behind South Carolina in the latest women’s March Madness odds. Throughout the season, she has only cleared this mark 15 times in 37 contests, with many of those instances occurring against weaker opponents.
Clark is now facing the challenge of maintaining her impressive performance against a UConn team with a strong defensive rating of 79.6. Despite holding USC star JuJu Watkins to under 30 points in the Elite Eight, I am skeptical about the Huskies’ ability to completely contain Clark throughout the entire game. However, the high defensive rating makes it difficult to overlook.
The prop total is currently set at 34.5 at Caesars, with the Under at that number being -120. For better odds, I recommend taking the Under at -105 with DraftKings, even though it’s a point higher. However, if you prefer more security, stick with the higher number.

I’m not trying to rain on anyone’s parade, but the market has pushed these totals to incredibly high levels. It’s hard to believe that we’re getting +116 odds at FanDuel to bet the Under on such a lofty total.
Clark may very well be considered the greatest 3-point shooter in women’s basketball history. However, in her last seven games, she has only hit more than five threes once. This exceptional performance occurred during the Elite Eight, where she made nine triples. Her shooting display left her primary defender, the 5-7 Hailey Van Lith, shrugging her shoulders in disbelief.
UConn may not have a standout perimeter defender, but they have enough size to prevent Clark from taking 20 three-point shots like she did on Monday. I would be surprised if Geno Auriemma doesn’t come up with a strategy to stop Clark from dominating the game with her outside shooting.

I anticipate that the Huskies will attempt to push Clark off the line and into the lane, which could create drive-and-kick opportunities for the Hawkeyes’ lesser-known supporting players, who are skilled shooters. Despite the odds being slightly higher than preferred, I believe it is a worthwhile bet at +100.
