For the second year in a row, NASCAR drivers will race around the shortest track on the circuit. Get ready to witness the chaos and excitement with our top picks and odds for the Clash at the Coliseum.

The stress of running around your high school track is nothing compared to 27 cars racing around the same quarter-mile track for 150 laps. This is the scene for the unofficial start of the 2023 NASCAR season, as the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum returns to L.A. for its second season this weekend.

On Saturday, there are practices and qualifying sessions. Sunday kicks off with four heat races, followed by two last chance races to finalize the field for the main event. The main event features 27 cars competing to determine the race’s ultimate winner.

Since not every driver competes in the main event, we are focusing on drivers who have a strong chance of qualifying and making it to the finale, hence the superspeedway lines for this race.

Check out our top 2023 Busch Clash at the Coliseum selections, with odds from our trusted sportsbooks and confidence ratings ranging from 1 to 5 stars. Be sure to consult our Clash at the Coliseum power rankings to enhance your choices.

Which team do you think will emerge victorious in the 2023 Clash at the Coliseum?

Kyle Busch (+800) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Busch will be racing in the No. 8 car for the first time this weekend. In the previous season, he set the quickest qualifying lap, won his heat race, and earned pole position for the main event. Driving the No. 18 car, Busch led 64 laps in the inaugural Clash at the Coliseum, ultimately finishing in second place in the final race.

Now driving for Richard Childress Chevrolet, he will attempt to win his third Busch Light Clash race, which would tie him for second all-time with Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart, and Dale Jarrett. Busch holds the record for the most short track wins among active drivers with 16 (17 if Bristol Dirt track is included). Additionally, he is tied with Harvick for the most career wins (60), establishing him as a formidable contender capable of winning in any setting and with any equipment.

Tyler Reddick (+1500) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This season, Reddick is piloting the No. 45 for the 23XI race team, transitioning from Toyota to Chevrolet. At last year’s Clash, he secured victory in the second heat, earning a spot in the front row of the main event next to Busch. Reddick led 51 out of the 150 main race laps until a drivetrain problem forced him to retire early.

Reddick won three races and earned pole position in three races last year. The car he now drives won two races with different drivers last season, with Kurt Busch and Bubba Wallace both winning at Kansas.

Justin Haley ⭐⭐⭐

Haley proved to be a top contender in the race, with his No. 31 Kaulig Chevy winning the third heat race and starting from third place in the main event. Unfortunately, his strong performance was cut short when he was taken out by the No. 5 car with 34 laps remaining. Kyle Larson made contact with the rookie after Haley had moved him up the track in a fight for third place.

Although Haley had a disappointing season overall, he still has the potential to make an impact in his second attempt at this track. With the addition of A.J. Allmendinger to his team full-time to help develop their young talent, early success is anticipated which could make Haley an exciting dark horse to win.
