The Toyota Owners 400, the initial of two races at Richmond Raceway this season, is scheduled for Sunday, March 31. Our selections are determined by the top NASCAR odds for Richmond Raceway provided by our premier sports betting sites.

Over the past six weeks of the 2024 season, drivers have encountered six different track configurations. This week, they will tackle yet another variation on the 0.75-mile Richmond Raceway. The race will take place in the evening, a departure from the usual schedule, in order to accommodate FOX’s coverage of Week 1 of the United Football League.

Even though they sponsor the race, Toyota has only won one of the last three Spring races at Richmond. Chevrolet, specifically Hendrick Motorsports drivers, have secured two wins in that timeframe. Kyle Busch holds the record for most wins among active drivers at Richmond with six victories in 36 starts.

Here are our Toyota Owners 400 picks for Sunday’s race at Richmond Raceway, along with our updated Nascar Cup Series Championship odds. These picks are based on the NASCAR odds and can be found on our best sports betting apps. Pick confidence is rated on a 1-to-5-star scale.

Toyota Owners 400 field

This week in Richmond, all 36 charter cars will be competing. Over the last three seasons, the three manufacturers have each had two wins on this track. Hendrick Motorsports has secured the last two Chevrolet victories, while Joe Gibbs Racing has taken the last two Toyota wins. Ford has witnessed Stewart-Haas and RFK sharing their checkered flags.

In last season’s Spring race, Kyle Larson seized the lead with 25 laps to go and ultimately claimed victory. The No. 5 car led a total of 93 laps, just behind teammate William Byron who led 117 laps. Chevrolet dominated the race, holding the top three positions on the leaderboard.

Expert predictions for the Toyota Owners 400

Top pick: Denny Hamlin is the favorite with +500 odds on DraftKings, earning a four-star rating.

Hamlin and Kevin Harvick are both tied with four career wins on this track, with only one of Hamlin’s victories coming in the Spring race. The No. 11 Camry secured the checkered flag in the first Richmond race of the 2022 season. Hamlin’s FedEx Toyota has earned 18 top-5 finishes in 34 starts in his home state. Additionally, Hamlin has led a total of 2,226 laps at Richmond, making him the leader in that category.

Last season, the veteran racer dominated the speed rankings for both Richmond races, landing at the top of the charts. Impressively, he also holds the title for the fastest total speed ranking on short, flat tracks for the past two seasons.

The teams will be using the same package they used in Phoenix earlier this month for this weekend’s race. Despite winning the pole and leading 68 laps, Hamlin spun out on a restart and ultimately finished in 11th place during that race.

Unlikely bet: Brad Keselowski is listed at +1300 odds on FanDuel.

In his last race at Richmond, Keselowski led 102 of the 400 laps, the most of any driver. He missed out on a potential victory by not allowing his pit crew to showcase their skills during his final pit stop. As a result, he finished in 6th place while his RFK teammate Chris Buescher claimed the checkered flag.

Last season at Richmond, the No. 6 car showed impressive speed in both races, ranking third overall in average speed. During the 2023 Spring race, Keselowski started 24th but managed to salvage a 10th-place finish. He also led a lap during the race.

In total, he has secured two career wins at this circuit, with his most recent triumph occurring in the fall race of the 2020 season. Keselowski currently ranks fourth among active drivers, having led a total of 1,280 laps on this track.

Proposition: Joe Gibbs Racing to emerge as the winning team with +100 odds at bet365, rated with four stars.

In the past 16 races at Richmond, Toyota drivers have won nine times, with all victories being claimed by Joe Gibbs Racing drivers since 2015. The last non-Gibbs Toyota to win at the track was Clint Bowyer in 2012, driving a Michael Waltrip Camry.

Most of the top sports betting sites have Joe Gibbs drivers as the top four favorites to win the race. Toyota is also favored among manufacturers. Caesars is offering this prop at -120, but betting on it at plus money on bet365 is a better choice. With +100 odds, there is a 50% probability of winning, and a $10 bet would pay out $20.
