As the Dallas Mavericks come to TD Garden for Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday, the Boston Celtics are determined to increase their series lead to 2-0. We’ve got you covered with our top player props for Mavericks vs. Celtics, based on the latest NBA odds from our trusted sports betting sites.

Not many expected the Boston Celtics to dominate the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The Mavericks were humiliated in the first half, outmatched in every aspect of the game. The Celtics cruised to a convincing 107-89 win, essentially sealing the victory by halftime.

Heading into Game 2, the Celtics are favored by 7 points to defeat the Mavericks for the second time. After a strong showing in Game 1, the Celtics have established themselves as frontrunners for the NBA championship. Nevertheless, they should anticipate a strong comeback from the Mavericks in Game 2, particularly if Luka Doncic plays up to his potential as a top contender for NBA Finals MVP.

Predictions for prop bets in the Mavericks vs. Celtics game on Sunday.

Bet on Kristaps Porzingis to record more than 1.5 blocks with a four-star rating.

There is no question that Porzingis’ return from injury and impressive performance as a scorer off the bench was the standout story of Game 1. He scored 20 points in total, with 11 of those points coming in the first quarter of his NBA Finals debut against his former team.

His exceptional defensive performance went somewhat unnoticed, despite his towering height of 7-foot-2. In his comeback game, he blocked three shots, two of which were in the first quarter. He has recorded multiple blocks in four out of five postseason games and in 32 out of 62 total games with the Celtics (51.6%).

Despite his previous statistics and the possibility of increased playing time in Game 2, Porzingis is still facing +105 odds to block multiple shots. These odds suggest a 48.78% likelihood of him achieving this feat again on Sunday, with a potential profit of $10.50 on a $10 bet.

Maxi Kleber to make at least one three-pointer: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

After relying heavily on lob plays in the first three rounds, Dallas only tried one alley-oop in Game 1, which was the lowest amount attempted all postseason. Additionally, the team’s usual big men had difficulty defending against Boston’s five-out strategy.

During the second quarter, Coach Jason Kidd made the decision to bring in veteran Kleber, which resulted in the Mavericks switching everything defensively and improving their spacing on offense. While Kleber didn’t take any 3-point shots himself, his presence on the court helped Dallas reduce their growing deficit and hinted at a possible strategy change for Game 2.

At the conclusion of the game, Kleber logged a season-high 18 minutes on the court since recovering from his shoulder injury in Round 1. In his previous four postseason appearances with similar playing time, he has attempted an average of 3.5 three-point shots per game. I believe he has a good chance of making at least one three-pointer on Sunday at even odds.

The most favorable odds are +100 from DraftKings.

Daniel Gafford to score less than 7.5 points – three stars.

Kleber’s increased playing time was at the cost of Gafford, who only played 14 minutes in Game 1 – his second-lowest this postseason – and saw just four minutes of playing time in the second half.

Gafford is not suited for this series as he struggles to keep up with the Celtics’ sharpshooting big men on defense and lacks the ability to create spacing on offense. This poses a challenge as the high-flying dunks he is used to are not as readily available in this postseason matchup.

Gafford just managed to surpass this total in Game 1, but I have a feeling his minutes could be reduced even further on Sunday, particularly if Kidd chooses to go with Kleber in crunch time to enhance spacing on offense and defense.
