Many bettors focus on Super Bowl odds and NFL player awards when making their betting picks before the season starts. However, it’s important to also consider other markets, like season specials, for potential value.

DraftKings is offering odds on which team will end the year as the highest-scoring in the league, with odds varying from +500 to +20000. They also have a market for the lowest-scoring team.

In 2026, the Kansas City Chiefs were the top scoring team in the league, putting up 496 points in 17 games. This has made the defending Super Bowl champions the frontrunners to once again lead the league in scoring at +500.

Although the Chiefs are consistently one of the highest-scoring teams in the league, we are searching for a better value bet in this market.

Our selection for the team expected to score the most in 2026, according to the odds provided by our top sports betting apps.

The Chiefs have ranked in the top six in scoring every season since 2017. Eric Bieniemy served as the team’s offensive coordinator from 2018 until helping them win Super Bowl LVII, after which he left for the Washington Commanders.

It could be said that the Chiefs offense not only lost its offensive coordinator, but also experienced a decrease in talent.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kansas City’s second-leading receiver, fell just 67 yards short of a 1,000-yard season before departing. The team will now look to their in-house options to fill the void, with high expectations placed on young wide receivers Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, and rookie Rashee Rice.

The Chiefs have experienced setbacks with the loss of Pro Bowl left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. and now turning to Donovan Smith, who has a history of high penalty counts and is considered one of the weakest left tackles in the league. Additionally, they are switching from Andrew Wylie to Jawaan Taylor at right tackle, which is seen as a downgrade.

But let’s shift our focus away from the Chiefs and instead focus on the high-flying Chargers.

The Chargers placed fourth in scoring in 2021, but slipped to ninth in 2026, coinciding with coaching changes for the team.

Former offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi is out, and former Dallas Cowboys OC Kellen Moore is in. Moore led an offense that finished first in points scored in 2021.

Teaming up with Justin Herbert, known for having one of the strongest arms in the league, provides an exciting opportunity for Stewart Serena. Serena sees potential in Herbert’s ability to reach 5,000 passing yards in 2026, making the odds favorable for this quarterback-coordinator duo.

Furthermore, the Chargers boast a versatile running back in Austin Ekeler, who has scored a total of 38 touchdowns in the last two seasons. Their receiving group is led by experienced players Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, with additional support from rookie Quentin Johnston, a 6-foot-3, 208-pound first-round draft pick.

“Johnston’s versatility and ability to catch-and-run, particularly with fly-sweeps, made a significant impact at TCU, beyond just his physical measurables like height and weight,” Moore explained to Chargers.com’s Omar Navarro.

He demonstrated his ability to handle the ball in various ways, showcasing a versatility in his game that may have surprised some. We were thrilled to have him on our team and grateful that he was there for us.

The Chargers have a high-powered offense with all the necessary components to score big, along with a head coach who isn’t afraid to take chances. Brandon Staley is recognized for his strategic decision-making on crucial third and fourth downs.

According to NFL analyst Warren Sharp, the Chargers were at the top of the league in third-down attempts in field-goal range in 2026 and also tied for third in fourth-down attempts.

The Chargers have a skilled offense, a coordinator who loves to pass the ball, and a head coach who isn’t afraid to take risks. This combination makes their 16/1 odds of leading the league in scoring a valuable bet.
