Will Aaron Rodgers be able to lead the New York Jets to the playoffs after their 7-10 record last season? Let’s analyze the chances of the Jets making it to the NFL Playoffs by reviewing the latest NFL odds from our top NFL betting sites.

In a bold offseason move, the New York Jets have secured Aaron Rodgers as their starting quarterback for the 2026 season. This switch from Zach Wilson to Rodgers represents a substantial improvement, particularly when paired with their strong defense and offensive playmakers such as wide receiver Garrett Wilson and running back Breece Hall.

Despite being considered one of the top teams in the AFC on paper, how likely are the Jets to make or miss the playoffs based on their actual performance?

Based on my preseason power rankings, the Jets are ranked as the ninth-best team in the league. Despite this, I believe their odds of making the playoffs are not priced appropriately, given that seven AFC teams will advance to the postseason.

Consider this scenario: if you have a strong belief that the Jets are the top team in the AFC and have a good chance of winning the Super Bowl, you may also think that their projected win total of 12.5 games is accurate. However, if their odds of making the playoffs are set at -10000 at reputable sports betting sites, it may not be a wise bet to make. Despite their high ranking in power ratings, there may be a discrepancy in the likelihood of the Jets actually making it to the playoffs.

The objective of sports betting is to recognize and take advantage of discrepancies in the odds, rather than just relying on personal bias as a fan to determine the strength of teams.

Despite being a strong team with a great defense and recent trade for Rodgers, the odds of the Jets making the playoffs may not accurately reflect the challenges of their tough schedule.
