Three States to Have Access to Summer Events With World Series of Poker’s New Online Platform

The World Series of Poker is expanding its network by including a third U.S. state in its online platform before the summer tournaments begin.

Poker players from Michigan’s online casino community will now have the opportunity to compete alongside players from New Jersey and Nevada. Caesars Entertainment is sponsoring a series where the World Series of Poker will introduce 30 online bracelet tournaments in these states.

According to Danielle Barille, vice president of online poker at Caesars Digital, the platform upgrade has been long awaited and will greatly benefit our players. She expressed excitement for the future of WSOP Online tournaments, especially with the inclusion of Michigan players alongside Nevada and New Jersey. This change will lead to a more enjoyable experience, increased value, and larger prize pools than ever before.

The World Series of Poker has the potential to expand its online poker community by capitalizing on its legality in Delaware, as well as the online casino industries in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Rebranding and new features

The poker company, previously known as WSOP.com, has undergone a rebranding and is now called WSOP Online. With an upgraded technology platform, users can now enjoy a wider range of options and tools on the mobile app. The new features include the ability to play on up to four tables simultaneously, as well as access to Omaha, multi-flight re-entry tournaments, in-app gift drops, and various game derivatives.

In addition, there will be fresh promotions and tournaments held every week.

Customers in Nevada and New Jersey who were using the old platform were given the opportunity to pre-register for WSOP Online over the weekend. They will need to install the updated app and make a new username, but their current balances, tournament tickets, and rewards points will be transferred and accessible within 72 hours of the launch.

This summer’s schedule

In 2024, the World Series of Poker will mark its 55th anniversary with the festivities kicking off on May 28 in Las Vegas. A special feature of this year’s event is the opportunity for players in Nevada, New Jersey, and Michigan to participate in online competitions.

Competitions for an official WSOP gold bracelet will be held every Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday from June 1 to July 21.

To celebrate the NBA Finals, a $333 Triple Treys No Limit Hold’em event will be hosted on the site, exclusively for mobile players.

In addition to the mobile events, there are also online qualifying tournaments available for in-person events. The entry fees for some of these online qualifiers can be as low as $1.

Five high-roller, hybrid-format events will take place on June 10 and June 29 at WSOP Online. The final tables for these events will be held in Las Vegas in July.

There will be guaranteed 25-seat WSOP Main Event mega satellite events on June 30 and July 3. Additionally, a new $10,000 WSOP Online Championship will take place on July 11.

Since 1970, the WSOP has hosted championship tournaments for poker players, giving out over $4 billion in prizes and gold bracelets. In the previous year, the event attracted 214,641 participants from 114 countries, distributing a total of $403 million in prize money.
