We’re ready for the excitement at Bristol Motor Speedway with our Food City 500 picks, based on the top NASCAR odds from our favorite sports betting sites. Bristol, here we come!

NASCAR has made changes to Bristol Motor Speedway for the upcoming Food City 500 race, shifting from dirt to concrete for the first time in three seasons. This will be the second short-track race of the 2024 season.

Furthermore, they will be competing in daylight on a stable surface for the first time in that timeframe. This week also marks the fifth unique track layout in five weeks, which has led to four different winners in the first four races and a competitive field based on the latest NASCAR Cup Series championship odds.

Chevrolet won the first three races of the season, and Ross Chastain finished sixth as the only Chevrolet driver in Phoenix last week. This week, only one of the top 10 drivers listed in our best sportsbooks will be driving a Chevy.

These are our predictions for the Food City 500 race on Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway, based on the NASCAR odds from our top sports betting apps. Our confidence in each pick is rated on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.

Food City 500 field

This week, 36 drivers are on the entry list, all guaranteed a spot in the race. Some of these drivers will be making their debut on the concrete track this spring. Additionally, this race marks the first time in three seasons that Bristol Motor Speedway will host a daytime race without the dirt track.

Kyle Busch holds the record for most wins among active drivers on the current track layout, with eight victories. Kyle Larson has also had a strong performance at this track, with top 10 finishes in eight of his last nine races here.

In the fall of last season, Denny Hamlin emerged victorious in the final race at Bristol. Larson finished in second place, marking his second consecutive top-five finish during the night race. Christopher Bell and Ty Gibbs, a rookie at the time, also secured spots in the top five for Toyota.

Food City 500 expert predictions

Favorite: Denny Hamlin (+550 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hamlin is currently tied with Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski for the third most wins on the concrete Bristol track, each with three victories. Throughout his 33 career starts on this paved track, he has achieved 17 top-10 finishes and 10 top-five finishes. Last fall, his FedEx Camry claimed victory during the night race at Bristol.

During the previous season’s fall race at Bristol, Hamlin came in second place for total speed rankings and green flag speed. In the 2021 race, he achieved the same rankings, trailing only Larson in both categories.

Recently, there has been a slight decrease in his price. BetMGM initially listed him at +550 but has since dropped to +525. DraftKings has also lowered his odds from +500 to +475. If you’re interested in betting on Hamlin, now would be the ideal time to make a move.

Long shot: Kyle Busch (+1800 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

Busch is the most successful active driver on this track’s current configuration, with eight wins. He has also won on the dirt here. Despite his impressive record, his recent finishes at Bristol have been less than stellar, with results of 21st, 34th, and 20th in his last three starts.

It is evident that his recent results are significantly increasing his price, despite Busch’s impressive record of finishing in the top five in six out of his last seven races with three wins before his recent decline. He is tied with Harvick for the most top-five finishes at Bristol (14) and has led the most laps on this track (2,593), surpassing Harvick by over 1,300 laps.

The No. 8 team has had a challenging beginning to the season, only securing one top-five finish and three finishes outside of the top 10. There is uncertainty surrounding Busch’s abilities at this track, as reflected in the odds from DraftKings, which have him at +1100 to win. However, if you believe in his chances this week, bet365 is offering more favorable odds at +1800.

Prop: Over 3.5 Chevys in top 10 (-115 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

There are a total of 14 Chevrolets, 14 Fords, and 8 Toyotas listed on the entry list for the upcoming Bristol race.

In the past three night races held here, a minimum of four bow ties have finished in the top 10. This trend has also appeared in two out of the last three spring races at Bristol, with at least four Camaros finishing in the top 10 in two of the four races this season.

Although Chevy did not hit the mark in Las Vegas, they had five representatives finish in the top 12 at the checkered flag. We believe they have a good chance of achieving a similar result this week.
