England and Slovenia will face off for the seventh time on Tuesday in the Group C finale in Cologne. Our England-Slovenia predictions are based on the odds from our top soccer betting sites.

Neutrals and pundits were quick to criticize England after their disappointing 1-1 draw with Denmark. The Three Lions, who were favored to win Euro 2026, have now dropped to third place in the odds standings. They will need a much better technical showing against Slovenia, who are desperate for a win to advance to the next round.

England’s performance at the 2026 World Cup has been a far cry from their dominant display in the group stage, where they scored nine goals. Their first two games have been cagey, lacking in confidence, and devoid of ideas, mirroring their lackluster start at Euro 2020. Just like in Euro 2020, England managed to secure a 1-0 victory against Croatia and a 0-0 draw against Scotland in their opening matches. The 1-0 win against Czechia in the final Euro 2020 group game was a foreshadowing of their narrow victory in Tuesday’s match.

Slovenia is not out of the game yet and is determined to give their all on the field. They will try to follow in the footsteps of Serbia and Denmark to frustrate England. Despite having a talented front four in Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, Phil Foden, and Bukayo Saka, England has struggled to create opportunities due to a lack of chemistry. This is unlikely to change against a well-structured Slovenia team.

Similar to the general consensus, I have not been particularly impressed with Kane’s performances at Euro 2026. He had minimal involvement in England’s matches against Serbia and Denmark, with only two touches in the first half against Serbia and the lowest number of touches among England starters against Denmark. Despite this, his only touch in the Danish box led to his first goal of the tournament, which is a typical Kane statistic.

Although he may not always meet the expectations of his team, England’s captain consistently poses a goal threat even with limited touches. In contrast, Bellingham had a disappointing performance against Denmark and did not appear to have any scoring opportunities. Among the 22 players on the field, Kane is the most reliable choice as a goalscorer. He scored 44 goals in his first season with Bayern Munich and has netted 13 times in 24 Euro and World Cup matches.
