The upcoming matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday will determine which team secures a spot in the playoffs. Our Lakers vs. Pelicans player props, using the top NBA odds available, suggest that this rematch will be a closely contested and competitive game.

Herbert Jones shined for the Pelicans on Sunday, going 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and scoring 18 points. This was not the first time Jones has exploited the Lakers’ weak perimeter defense.

In the last three games against the Lakers, Jones has made multiple 3-pointers, sinking a total of 10 triples. He has achieved this feat in four of his last five matchups with Los Angeles.

The Lakers often prioritize guarding CJ McCollum, which creates opportunities for other guards to find open shots. This bet on two three-pointers being made is rated four stars and is a good value at odds of +100 or higher.

LeBron James Over 2.5 first-quarter assists (+130 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

During the last game against the Pelicans, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer showcased exceptional passing skills, especially at the beginning of the game. LeBron James delivered eight of his 17 assists in the first quarter, establishing a high level of offensive performance.

James has consistently dominated the first quarter in most games against the Pelicans. In a home game on Feb. 9, he had 14 assists, with five coming in the first quarter, leading the Lakers to a 139-122 win.

On Sunday, Lakers fans anxiously watched as Anthony Davis left the game in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. Davis later revealed that he was dealing with back spasms but expressed his readiness to return for Tuesday’s game.

I have doubts about Davis’ defensive abilities when he is playing through pain. The Pelicans choose not to challenge Davis’ defensive prowess inside and instead focus on moving him out in open space. In the last two games against New Orleans, Davis has only managed to record a total of two steals and blocks combined.
