As the Atlanta Falcons head to Ford Field to take on the Detroit Lions, we analyze the NFL odds on our top sports betting apps to make our predictions for the game.

After a thrilling Week 1 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Detroit Lions suffered a disappointing defeat at home to the Seattle Seahawks. Geno Smith threw for 328 yards against the Lions, resulting in a 37-0 victory for the Seahawks.

The Atlanta Falcons improved to 2-0 with a narrow victory against the Green Bay Packers. Despite not having a flashy passing game, the Falcons have been dominant on offense, averaging 170.5 yards per game. Head coach Arthur Smith has been gaining recognition as a top contender for Coach of the Year.

Falcons vs. Lions prediction

Bijan Robinson Over 24.5 receiving yards (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Garner-Johnson and running back David Montgomery are confirmed to be out this week, and Amon-Ra St. Brown is also dealing with a toe injury, making it difficult to have confidence in the Lions. On the other hand, the Falcons may struggle to capitalize on the Lions’ defensive injuries. While the Lions’ defense has shown promising statistics, they have yet to face a strong offense.

If we don’t have a strong bet on the spread or total, our focus should be on Bijan Robinson. The Lions’ rush defense has been impressive, allowing only 86 yards per game this season. While the Falcons typically excel at gaining yards on the ground, the Lions’ high-scoring offense may force them to adjust their game plan to keep pace.

This is why we are steering clear of Robinson’s rushing stats and focusing on his receiving yards instead. Robinson has hauled in 10 of Desmond Ridder’s 34 completions so far this season. He racked up 48 receiving yards in Week 2, following a 27-yard performance in Week 1.

The Lions’ aggressive defensive line puts pressure on quarterbacks to release the ball quickly. In Week 2, Smith took advantage of this by making quick passes, although they were not to his running backs. In the previous week, Isaiah Pacheco caught four passes for 31 yards.

Ridder enjoys passing the ball to his running backs, and in this game, Robinson has the potential to achieve personal bests in both receiving yards and receptions.

FanDuel is the sole major sportsbook that does not have a line available for Robinson. Among the top sports betting apps, bet365 stands out for offering a price of -110, which is more favorable compared to the standard -115 offered elsewhere.

Every sportsbook has the total set at 24.5 yards right now, so it is likely that FanDuel will have a similar line when they release it. It’s not necessary to wait for FanDuel’s line.

Falcons vs. Lions odds

Falcons vs. Lions odds analysis

The Lions started as 4.5-point favorites, but due to recent injuries, the spread has decreased to as low as 3 at top sports betting sites. Despite this, 70% of bets are still favoring the Lions to cover. It remains to be seen if oddsmakers will stick to their initial predictions or adjust the spread further based on the players sitting out this game.

The total opened at 46.5 and has remained unchanged, even though 76% of bettors are supporting the Over. The final scores of the games involving these teams have not accurately reflected their gameplay. Therefore, we believe the total could decrease, despite the majority of bets being on the Over.
