First touchdown scorer predictions: Week 9

Please be aware that the first touchdown scorer market can be highly volatile for any matchup, so we recommend making wagers with a reduced investment.

New York Giants vs. Las Vegas Raiders first touchdown scorer prediction: Davante Adams (Raiders, WR) (+800 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

In a disappointing loss to the Detroit Lions last week, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams was visibly frustrated. He only caught one of his seven targets for 11 yards, adding to a string of disappointing performances this season. Adams has only scored three touchdowns this season, with two coming in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

One positive aspect to note is that in the two games he scored in, he also scored the first touchdown. The Raiders have undergone several changes this week, such as appointing Aidan O’Connell as their starting quarterback. It can be assumed that involving their top wide receiver early in the game will be a priority. Additionally, the wide receiver position has accounted for all but one of the Raiders’ first touchdowns this season, which is a promising sign for this proposition.

Another factor to keep in mind is the New York Giants’ struggle to prevent opposing teams from scoring first. The Giants have allowed the first touchdown of the game to their opponents in all but one of their eight games this season.

Vikings vs. Falcons first touchdown scorer prediction: Jordan Addison (Vikings, WR) (+1400 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It is surprising that the Minnesota Vikings have only scored one rushing touchdown this season. Prior to last week, the majority of their scoring came from the wide receiver group, particularly rookie Jordan Addison from USC. Addison has scored seven touchdowns so far this season, with three of them being the first touchdown of the game. He scored first in consecutive games against the Chicago Bears and the San Francisco 49ers. While he didn’t score first against Kansas City, he did score the first touchdown for the Vikings in that game.

Jaren Hall, a fifth-round pick out of BYU, will be starting at quarterback for Minnesota on Sunday in place of the injured Kirk Cousins. Hall will rely on his top weapon, leading to potential early scoring chances for Addison.

So far this season, the Atlanta Falcons have given up the first touchdown to four different teams. In their last game, the Titans scored three touchdowns before the Falcons were able to get on the board.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Baltimore Ravens first team touchdown scorer prediction: Lamar Jackson (Ravens, QB) (+450 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In seven out of their eight games this season, the Baltimore Ravens have scored the first touchdown. Quarterback Lamar Jackson has been the first to cross the goal line in three of those games. Additionally, the Ravens have had the first possession in six games, allowing Jackson the opportunity to secure the first score of the game.

The Seattle Seahawks deserve credit for allowing only one quarterback to score a rushing touchdown against them this season. However, it’s worth noting that Jackson did manage to score a rushing touchdown in his only previous game against Seattle.
