We found ourselves on the losing end of a surprise comeback in the Sparks’ disappointing defeat to the Sun on Tuesday, and they are once again facing a sizable point spread against what I believe is the top team in the WNBA.
I am hesitant to bet on New York with a spread of -14.5, but I believe that Los Angeles will struggle to contain Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and the rest of the powerful Liberty offense. This is particularly true following the injury to Brink, who was a key player in defense with a high block rate and defensive win shares.
After losing to the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday, New York should be highly motivated in this game. The Liberty had their eight-game winning streak snapped, but they still managed to score over 90 points for the third consecutive game. They currently hold the top offensive rating in the WNBA for the entire season (107.1) and for the month of June (110.4).

Although Stewart receives the majority of the spotlight in New York’s high-performing offense, Jones, a former MVP winner, has been impressing lately after a sluggish start to the season.

She has surpassed this scoring total in all four games and in six of her last nine games, showing a significant improvement in both shot volume and efficiency compared to earlier in the season.
Since Brink is no longer guarding the paint for Los Angeles, I am confident that Jones will exceed this total for a fifth consecutive game at the favorable -115 odds, resulting in a payout of $8.70 for every $10 wagered.

Dearica Hamby Under 16.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you’ve been following my WNBA coverage this season, you may have noticed that I have been critical of Hamby. However, I want to clarify that I do not have any personal grudge against her. I actually have a great deal of respect for the Sparks star, although not as much as our top live betting sites do.
We have been very successful in recent weeks betting against Hamby, who had a strong start but has now scored 16 or fewer points in four consecutive games. Her performance is also declining, as she only scored 10 points on Sunday and then just eight points on Tuesday.
In the most recent loss to the Sun, she only attempted eight shots and made three baskets, marking her second straight game with low scoring. While I don’t anticipate such a poor performance on Thursday, it’s evident that something is off for Hamby and I will continue to bet against her scoring until she improves.
