Following a devastating loss on national television last Sunday, the New York Giants are gearing up to take on the Arizona Cardinals with a depleted roster and a new head coach. Here are our top predictions for the upcoming Giants vs. Cardinals game based on the latest NFL odds.

The opinions on these two teams may have shifted this week, as the New York Giants suffered a crushing 40-0 defeat at home against the Dallas Cowboys, while the Arizona Cardinals displayed a strong performance on the road against the Washington Commanders.

However, do not be fooled by the Cardinals’ performance as they struggled on offense. Despite starting quarterback Joshua Dobbs completing 70% of his passes (21 out of 30), he only threw for 132 yards. The team failed to score a single offensive touchdown.

Furthermore, the Giants’ defense is expected to have an easy time against an Arizona offensive line that gave up two sacks and two forced fumbles in their last game. Scoring may be limited in this match-up, but we can rely on New York head coach Brian Daboll to outwit his rookie counterpart, Arizona head coach Jonathan Gannon.

Below is our top prediction for the Giants vs. Cardinals game, along with our recommended NFL best bets for Week 2, upset picks, and player props. We have provided odds from our preferred NFL betting sites, and our confidence level for each pick is rated on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.

Giants vs. Cardinals prediction

Giants -4 (-110 via DraftKings, bet365, BetMGM, Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Cardinals had a dismal 1-8 record in home games last season, the second-worst in the NFL behind the Houston Texans (0-7-1). Their eight home losses set a franchise record for a single season, surpassing the mark set in 2018 (1-7). The team’s performance has declined, with key players being traded away and quarterback Kyler Murray still recovering from injury. Dobbs has been filling in as the starting quarterback. The Washington Commanders helped Arizona with turnovers in their recent matchup.

Despite the fact that Giants quarterback Daniel Jones had two fumbles and two interceptions in the game against the Cowboys last week, it is important to note that they were facing one of the top two defenses in the NFL. Dallas was able to put pressure on Jones on 23 out of the 37 dropbacks during the game.

Jones achieved a career-high 67.2% completion rate last season and threw just five regular-season interceptions. He will aim to replicate that level of consistency in Glendale on Sunday. In Week 1, Jones led the team in rushing attempts with 13 carries for 43 yards.

The Giants’ running game is not solely dependent on him. Saquon Barkley had 607 rushing yards in away games last season, ranking fourth in the league behind Derrick Henry (905), Josh Jacobs (868), and Nick Chubb (727). It is even more remarkable considering he only played seven road games last year, while the other three played nine.

Anticipate the Giants’ defense to take advantage of the Cardinals’ vulnerable offensive line, while New York dominates the ground game. With the Giants controlling possession, Jones won’t need to pass much, resulting in them covering the spread.

The NFL Week 2 odds opened with the line at -4, but it increased to -5.5 by Tuesday. If it had reached -6 or -6.5, I would have strongly thought about betting on the Cardinals as home underdogs. However, -4 is a favorable number, and despite the poor performance of the Giants on Sunday night, they have better coaching and a more talented roster to cover on the road.

DraftKings adjusted its odds from -112 to -110 in accordance with our top sports betting sites. Caesars initially set the line at -4.5 on Friday but later lowered it to -4, thanks to the Cowboys’ decisive victory which benefitted us.
