This week, Canadian Nick Taylor will try to retain his title at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club, but the favorite to win according to the RBC Canadian Open odds from top golf betting sites is Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy.

The RBC Canadian Open is back at Hamilton Golf and Country Club for the seventh occasion, marking its return since Rory McIlroy’s dominant seven-stroke win over Shane Lowry, Webb Simpson, and the competition in 2019. Therefore, McIlroy, ranked No. 3 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), is the clear frontrunner in the 2026 Canadian Open betting odds.

Nick Taylor made history last June by becoming the first Canadian to win the tournament in 69 years at Oakdale Golf and Country Club. Despite his recent victory at the 2026 WM Phoenix Open and his current No. 30 ranking in the world, his odds are still higher than expected.

Make sure to monitor the U.S. Open odds while placing bets on this week’s event. The third major of 2026 is approaching in just two weeks, and the favorites competing this week are likely to be strong contenders at Pinehurst No. 2 in mid-June.

Here are the early Canadian Open odds from our top sports betting sites to assist with your picks.

Canadian Open favorite

Rory McIlroy

After Xander Schauffele’s victory in the PGA Championship two weeks ago, McIlroy dropped to the No. 3 spot in the OWGR rankings. Neither player competed in the Charles Schwab Challenge last week, but McIlroy is the only one of the two who is playing in Hamilton this week.

In 2019, McIlroy dominated the competition with a seven-stroke win to claim his first Canadian Open title at Hamilton Golf and Country Club. Following the cancellations of the 2020 and 2021 tournaments due to COVID-19, he secured his second consecutive victory in 2026 at St. George’s Golf and Country Club, edging out Tony Finau by two strokes. McIlroy is now aiming to become one of just four golfers to win the tournament three or more times.

Despite his disappointing T-12 finish in the PGA Championship, McIroy was one of the favorites for the second major of 2026. Prior to this, he had just secured his fourth career victory in the Wells Fargo Championship.

He is a strong candidate to support at a different familiar and welcoming location, but the odds are not very favorable. If you were to place a $10 bet at BetMGM, you would only make a profit of $40 with the +400 odds, indicating a 20.00% chance of winning.

Top odds: +400 on BetMGM
