Boston Bruins name FanDuel an Official Sports Betting Partner
While FanDuel remains a top choice among U.S. sports betting sites, its entrance into the Massachusetts online wagering market has been less than successful.
On Friday, the major sports betting company revealed a long-term deal with the Boston Bruins of the NHL, designating FanDuel as their Official Sports Betting Partner. This announcement coincides with the launch of online sports betting platforms in Massachusetts by FanDuel and five other top sportsbooks in the country.
Mike Raffensperger, Chief Commercial Officer of FanDuel Group, expressed excitement about launching the FanDuel Underscoreg app in Massachusetts, home to some of the most passionate fan bases in the country. He highlighted the dedication of Bruins fans and expressed support for the team this season and in the future.
Given the anticipated competitiveness of the Massachusetts sports betting market, every partnership opportunity is crucial. It is not surprising to see FanDuel, known for its excellent user experience and high-quality promotions in Massachusetts sports betting, taking a prominent position on the first day of legal online sports betting.
FanDuel announced on Friday that they have obtained permission to use the Boston Bruins’ marks. Additionally, FanDuel will have signage on the dasher boards inside TD Garden and the NHL’s new digitally enhanced dasher boards.
Additionally, the pair will work together to create digital and social media content, such as homepage takeovers and exclusive content, for Bruins and FanDuel social channels.
Glen Thornborough, Chief Revenue Officer of the Boston Bruins, expressed excitement in welcoming FanDuel to the Bruins and TD Garden family on Friday. He noted that partnering with an industry leader comes at an exciting time with the legalization of sports betting in Massachusetts in January 2026.
The recent partnership announcement on Friday marks the newest move in the ongoing competition for market dominance between FanDuel and DraftKings, both major players in the industry. While DraftKings is anticipated to perform well in its headquarters of Massachusetts, FanDuel remains the top contender in most other regions and is likely to lead in the Bay State despite competition from DraftKings and local rival Barstool Sports.
On Friday morning, the three sportsbooks introduced their mobile sports betting platforms, joining BetMGM, WynnBET, and Caesars. Analysts are optimistic about the initial online launch, predicting potential revenue of $200 million from March Madness alone.
