Arizona to Add bet365 to Sports Betting Landscape
After Fubo Underscoreg ceased operations in Arizona, a new sports betting provider will be entering the market, potentially adding another app to the Arizona sports betting scene in time for the NFL season.
An announcement from the Arizona Department of Gaming on Tuesday revealed that bet365 will be replacing the recently closed Fubo Underscoreg as Arizona’s 17th authorized mobile sports betting provider.
Bet365, which claims to be the “world’s favourite online sports betting company,” is expanding its presence in the United States by entering Arizona as its seventh legal sports betting jurisdiction. The British-based sportsbook already operates in Ohio, Virginia, New Jersey, Iowa, and Colorado, and is set to launch in Kentucky in less than a month.
In Arizona, regulators have approved up to 20 operators to operate in the state, with as many as 18 currently active. The platform has had a minimum of 16 operators at one time. Bet365 will bring the total number of active sportsbooks to 17, with 3 more licenses expected to be granted soon.
A bit more about the agreement
After Fubo Underscoreg’s departure, bet365 Arizona will become the official sports betting operator for the Ak-Chin Indian Community in Arizona. Known for its extensive range of betting markets and years of experience in the industry, bet365 will bring its elite sports betting brand to the Arizona market.
The Arizona Department of Gaming has given bet365 a 180-day deadline to launch their product in the Grand Canyon State, which includes getting approval for their product and procedures before the launch. After meeting all regulatory requirements, bet365 will enter a competitive market filled with established operators in Arizona.
bet365 is anticipated to easily meet the ADG requirements and may be operational in the coming weeks to fully capitalize on the beginning of the NFL season.

More licenses to come in Arizona?
The Arizona Department of Gaming initially allowed for three additional sports betting licenses to be granted – one to a tribal partner and the other two to professional sports teams within the state.
The application window opened on August 1 and closed on August 15. Bet365 was granted approval for the tribal partnership, but the Department did not approve any of the applications for the two remaining event arena/sports franchise betting licenses.
Phoenix Rising FC, a team in the United Soccer League, was rumored to be seeking expansion into a different league. However, the team did not apply this time due to not meeting the necessary requirements back in 2021.
The lack of explanation for the empty sports franchise sports betting licenses raises questions. Did potential sportsbooks not meet the state’s regulations? Or does the Department require more time to select operators for bettors to choose from?
One more Tribal license available
In Arizona, there is currently one Tribal sports betting license available, which would complete the maximum of 10 Tribal partnerships permitted by law. WynnBET, similar to Fubo, has exited the Arizona market, resulting in an unfilled partnership with the San Carlos Apache Tribe.
Expect Fanatics and their enthusiastic sports betting brand to swiftly secure a partnership with the San Carlos Apache Tribe. Following their acquisition of PointsBet, Fanatics has been proactive in their expansion efforts, specifically targeting the Arizona market where PointsBet had previously struggled to gain access.
