bet365 Makes Indiana its 8th U.S. State
On Tuesday, bet365, a UK-based company, furthered its expansion into the American market by announcing that its platform is now available as a sports betting app in Indiana.
Bet365 is currently accepting bets in eight states in the United States: Indiana, Iowa, Colorado, Virginia, New Jersey, Ohio, Kentucky, and Louisiana. Additionally, the company is operating in Ontario, Canada’s sole legal sports betting jurisdiction.
The Indiana announcement comes during a period of rapid growth for the European sports betting powerhouse. Having recently entered the Louisiana market in November, the company is now gearing up to expand into Arizona and North Carolina within the upcoming months.
What bet365 adds to Indiana
Since its launch in October 2019, bet365 has brought its experience and global success to the consistently productive Indiana sports betting market.
Despite the success of more populated legalized states, Indiana has maintained its position as a top-10 legal sports wagering jurisdiction in America thanks to the popularity of the top Indiana sportsbook promotions.
Bet365 has established a presence in the legal sports betting market in the Midwest, although it hasn’t quite reached the same level as the top sports betting apps. However, it is holding its own in several competitive markets in the region.
Currently ranked as the third most successful sports betting app in Ohio, bet365 offers top promos from the leading Ohio sportsbook along with our exclusive bet365 bonus code.
More on the Indiana market
Since its inception in 2019, the Indiana legal sports betting market has thrived with a lineup of top providers. bet365 will face competition from industry giants like DraftKings, the leading sports betting app in Indiana in December, as well as FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, and ESPN BET for a slice of the market share.
Indiana appears to have an abundance of betting activity. In December, the state recorded its second consecutive month with a handle of $500 million, making it the fourth such month since the launch of sports betting. In 2023, Indiana saw a total of $4.34 billion in wagering activity and generated an impressive $404.1 million in revenue.
In 2023, the Indiana market experienced year-over-year growth, surpassing competition from neighboring states as many individuals capitalized on the top sportsbook promotions available.
Bet365 aims to continue its success seen in Ohio as it competes for the third spot in the state’s sports betting market against BetMGM, Caesars, and ESPN BET. While these providers trailed behind the top competitors in December, they were separated by less than $1 million in monthly handles.
Where to next?
It seems that the launch in Indiana is just one step in bet365’s larger and rapid expansion strategy.
The Ak-Chin Indian Community has partnered with bet365 to bring sports betting to Arizona, with the app set to launch in February. According to state law, the sportsbook must go live within 180 days of receiving a license, which bet365 was awarded in August 2023.
bet365 is getting ready to be one of the seven North Carolina sports betting apps when the platform debuts in the Tar Heel State on March 11. The company has already partnered with the state’s renowned NBA team to become the “Official Mobile Sports Betting Partner of the Charlotte Hornets.”
Bet365 has sought entry into the competitive Pennsylvania sports betting market by applying for a license for sports betting apps in February 2023. However, they are still awaiting a response from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
