NBA Draft Player Props & Odds: Best Bets for Wednesday’s 1st Round
Tonight, we are providing top NBA draft player props for some of the standout college basketball players as they wait to hear their names called in the NBA draft.
Following months of criticism labeling the 2024 NBA Draft as one of the weakest in history, the anticipation reaches its peak tonight as the Atlanta Hawks are expected to choose Zaccharie Risacher, the frontrunner according to NBA draft odds, as the No. 1 pick.
The draft is scheduled to take place at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN, ABC) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Fans from all over the country are eagerly anticipating the arrival of new rookies to their favorite teams, hoping that these players will improve their chances of winning an NBA championship.
Although the draft class may seem weak on paper, the potential of these players selected in the first round is unpredictable. That’s why I am analyzing three of the most controversial players in my NBA draft best bets and predictions.

NBA draft prop bet predictions for Wednesday
Zach Edey drafted Under 15.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Predicting where Edey will land in the NBA draft is a challenge due to his dominant performance in college basketball over the past decade. Standing at an impressive height of 7-foot-4, he is comparable to the CN Tower in size. However, there are valid concerns about his agility and speed on the NBA court.
Despite this, he still managed to average 25.2 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game while leading Purdue to the national championship game. While he may not have the highest potential for growth, Edey can offer a team a valuable rim protector who excels in rebounding, setting screens, and demonstrating unexpectedly good shooting ability.
While I have my doubts about Edey, in a draft as stacked as this one, it would be wise to consider selecting him within the top 15 picks. He has the potential to grow into a starting center similar to Jonas Valanciunas. The odds suggest there is a 56.14% chance he will be picked before the 16th selection, with a $10 bet resulting in a payout of $17.81.
Top odds: -128 at BetMGM
Terrence Shannon Jr. to be drafted top 20 ⭐⭐⭐
As the draft approaches, there is uncertainty among draft experts about where Shannon will be selected. Despite being acquitted of rape and aggravated sexual battery charges, Shannon’s legal troubles have now been resolved, potentially opening the door for him to be chosen earlier than expected in the draft.
Shannon was a standout scorer for Illinois last season, averaging 23 points per game and scoring over 26 points in six of seven NCAA Tournament games. Standing at 6-foot-6, he possesses the ability to drive to the basket with explosive speed and has shown improvement in his 3-point shooting.
Although the chances may be slim, I believe the NBA will prioritize a player who excels at driving to the basket and playing tough defense in this class. The odds suggest he has a 34.48% chance of being selected in the top 20, but a $10 wager could result in a $19 profit.
Top odds: +190 offered by FanDuel.
Ronald Holland to be drafted before Rob Dillingham ⭐⭐⭐
This prop highlights two top-tier recruits, with Holland being the top recruit last season choosing to play for G League Ignite, while Dillingham, also highly ranked, decided to attend Kentucky. It raises the question of who received the higher payment.
Although both are considered borderline top-10 picks and are locks for the top 20, I believe Holland will be called first. Both players have the ability to score effectively, but Holland’s size and defensive skills give him an edge in the draft. Standing at 6-foot-7 with a 6-foot-11 wingspan and possessing a relentless work ethic, Holland is likely to be selected earlier.
Dillingham is a thrilling player on offense, but at 6-foot-1, 164 pounds, his defensive abilities make his draft prospects uncertain for analysts. The odds suggest a 55.56% chance that Holland will be chosen first, with a $10 wager resulting in an $18 payout.
The most favorable odds are -125 offered by DraftKings.
