The UK’s leading sports betting company, bet365, known as the “World’s Favorite Underscoreg,” officially launched its Arizona sports betting app on Monday, making its mobile wagering platform available at 6 a.m. local time.

The launch of bet365 in Arizona comes at a perfect time, with only six days left until the highly anticipated Super Bowl, which is the biggest day for legal sports betting in the United States.

With bet365’s launch in Arizona, the state now has a total of 17 sports betting sites. The company has also expanded its sportsbook presence to nine other U.S. states, including Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Ohio, New Jersey, and Virginia.

How the Arizona launch came about

When Fubo Underscoreg left the Arizona market in October 2022, it created an opportunity for a new licensed provider to enter the Arizona sports betting scene. Bet365 stepped in as the new partner for the Ak-Chin Indian Community, taking over the spot previously held by the unsuccessful Fubo sports wagering product.

Bet365 is capitalizing on the opportunities offered by the growing and diverse legal sports betting market in the United States.

Bet365 has recently expanded its presence in the American market, launching in Arizona and Indiana in January and November, respectively. The company has been actively pursuing opportunities in the growing sports betting industry in the US.

There is a high probability of more bet365 American launches happening in 2024.

More to come?

A few weeks ago, the Arizona Department of Gaming began accepting applications for new sports betting providers in the state, with the goal of issuing at least two licenses. bet365 has been approved for one of those licenses.

With 17 sportsbooks currently operating in the Grand Canyon State, it is expected that more will join in the future. Former Gov. Doug Ducey legalized sports betting in Arizona in 2021 and made up to 20 sports wagering licenses accessible.

The deadline to apply for new Arizona sports betting app licenses is March 4, 2024, at 5 p.m., as stated by the Arizona Department of Gaming.

With WynnBET exiting the Arizona market, there is now an available spot up for grabs. Fanatics Underscoreg is anticipated to be in the running for one of the licenses in the Grand Canyon State.
