Betfred Scores Partnership With Vegas Golden Knights
Betfred, a British-born sports betting provider, has faced a challenging journey to establish itself in the Nevada market. However, the last two weeks have brought significant success for the company.
Earlier this week, BetFred was welcomed as the Official Sports Betting Partner of the Vegas Golden Knights in a multi-year deal announced by the National Hockey League team.
Following last week’s announcement that Betfred had secured a license to join the Nevada sports betting market at the Mohegan Sun Casino in the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas, this news comes after years of attempting to break into the Silver State. Betfred USA, a Las Vegas-based company, has been operating in the area since 2019 without a proper license.
The Betfred/Golden Knights partnership
On January 31, Betfred was named the Official Sports Betting Partner of the renowned Nevada team, the Vegas Golden Knights. This partnership allows the betting provider to increase their brand visibility in the dynamic Nevada market through strategic signage at T-Mobile Arena and integration with the Golden Knights brand.
This includes references on the team’s media platforms, in print publications, and on radio broadcasts.
Since being granted a license to operate in Nevada just last week, exposure is crucial for Betfred as they work to catch up with the competition. Many of the top sportsbooks in the industry are already established in the state, making it essential for Betfred to quickly establish a presence to remain competitive.
Betfred will promote the NHL team on its sports betting platform and host Knights-focused contests for users of the Betfred Nevada app. Additionally, during intermissions at Knights games in T-Mobile Arena, Betfred will also offer special contests for attendees.
The Betfred/Golden Knights partnership, along with other official sports betting collaborations, has proven to be extremely advantageous for sports betting sites and the teams involved on a global scale. This recent deal is particularly significant for Betfred, as it has just entered the Nevada market, marking a major achievement for the company.
More on Betfred’s entry into Nevada
It has taken Betfred almost two years to complete their licensing process in Nevada.
For years, the infrastructure for a sportsbook had been established at the old Hard Rock Casino location near the strip, along with a desire to launch Betfred in Nevada. Betfred, a successful operator in the European market, also has a strong presence in nine states across the U.S.
The only thing needed was approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board to operate in its home state. After a meeting between the NGCB and Betfred on Wednesday, approval was granted, and on Thursday, the Board unanimously approved the Betfred application.
Betfred has been granted approval to operate in Nevada and is set to launch its sports betting product just in time for the Super Bowl on Feb. 12.
After expanding into Maryland and Arizona, Betfred now operates in its 10th U.S. state, Nevada. The Golden Knights have secured a partnership with Betfred, making it the second major sportsbook to do so after BetMGM’s agreement a few years ago.
