On Thursday, BetMGM made a major announcement by revealing a partnership with the Associated Press, one of the largest news agencies in America and globally. This collaboration will see odds provided for sports reports in their publications, marking a significant milestone for one of the top sports betting sites.

The groundbreaking agreement is a significant achievement for one of the top sports betting apps in America. BetMGM’s odds will now be available to the AP’s 44.2 million monthly users, reaching markets both large and small nationally and globally. This represents another significant milestone in the merging of media and sports betting in recent years.

FanDuel’s role as the Associated Press’s official sports odds provider has been taken over by BetMGM after the deal expired earlier this year. FanDuel had held the position since 2021.

Barry Bedlan, the AP Director of Global Text and Commercial Products, expressed that customers and audiences desire reliable sports betting information. He mentioned that they are excited to collaborate with BetMGM to offer a trustworthy and credible resource for their users.

According to BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost, partnering with the Associated Press is a unique opportunity for BetMGM. The Associated Press is a renowned global news source that billions of people depend on for the latest news. Establishing trust within this platform is crucial for expanding our audience, and we are excited to contribute content that enriches the organization’s coverage.

More on the transformative deal

BetMGM, headquartered in the New Jersey sports betting market, will experience a significant boost in visibility thanks to its recent collaboration with the Associated Press. Its betting odds will now be accessible to a global audience of 44.2 million monthly Associated Press users.

In the future, all daily sports features from the Associated Press will now include BetMGM odds. This will apply to game previews and any other sports stories that have previously included odds in the narrative.

The Associated Press will maintain editorial control over its content, according to reports.

Adding to its focus on media

BetMGM is known for its innovative approach to reaching the public, and the recent partnership with AP is just one example of its forward-thinking strategy in expanding its sportsbook offerings.

In February, BetMGM made history by signing a groundbreaking partnership deal with “X,” formerly known as Twitter. This deal established BetMGM as the exclusive partner for a social media platform with 550 million active users, making them the first and only company to achieve this milestone.

BetMGM has also formed innovative partnerships in the past year, such as the collaboration with Marriott Bonvoy. This partnership connects BetMGM and Marriott Bonvoy accounts, enabling customers to earn rewards points that can be used with either company.
