BetMGM and Kindbridge Behavioral Health have teamed up to revolutionize problem gambling support, making it more accessible to their customers and ushering in a new era of support services for mental health.

With the support of the Colorado Division of Gaming, BetMGM has pledged to collaborate on creating and executing a mental health program for individuals identified as problem gamblers in Colorado.

Kindbridge expertise welcome

Kindbridge Behavioral Health has been selected to collaborate with BetMGM on an innovative pilot program aimed at assisting problem gamblers in the Colorado sports betting market who utilize Colorado sports betting apps.

The company takes pride in its ability to remotely diagnose and treat qualified mental health disorders. It also offers expedited recovery tools online and over the phone.

In a statement, Adam Greenblatt, the CEO of BetMGM, praised Kindbridge.

He stated, “Kindbridge excels in providing exceptional mental health care tailored to the specific challenges of gambling addiction. We are committed to promoting the development and accessibility of vital services for problem gamblers.”

The objective is to enhance BetMGM users’ access to essential mental health services for managing their addictions.

More on what the service will provide

BetMGM and Kindbridge are teaming up to offer support to problem gamblers in the Colorado market by providing essential resources. These players will have the opportunity to schedule appointments with problem gambling experts for outpatient care, with a focus on telehealth services.

BetMGM Colorado offers problem gamblers who self-exclude themselves the opportunity to receive a free mental health assessment, as well as access to various online peer support and educational groups.

A sign of things to come?

As the legal sports betting industry and igaming platforms become more popular and mainstream across the country, there is a growing awareness of the potential for problem gambling.

There has been much discussion about the obligations of sports betting providers to educate their customers about responsible gaming practices and to address issues related to problem gambling.

Adam Greenblatt, CEO of BetMGM, emphasized the importance of continued investment and innovation in the sports betting industry.

Daniel Umfleet, the founder and CEO of Kindbridge Behavioral Health, emphasized that partnerships like this facilitate easier access to needed services for individuals seeking care. He highlighted that Kindbridge and BetMGM are innovatively bridging the gap between the gaming industry and healthcare services, ultimately improving lives.

Is this partnership a sign of future collaborations among sportsbooks in different states? It’s quite possible, as sports betting providers strive to establish credibility and gain a competitive advantage in the growing U.S. legal sports betting market.

Other providers will take notice of the positive impact that a commitment to problem gambling resources can have on potential new BetMGM jurisdictions.

Caring for users and addressing the potential drawbacks of sportsbook products seems like a brave and altruistic initiative. This could potentially become a requirement for obtaining licenses in both existing and future legal sports betting states in the U.S.

The innovative BetMGM/Kindbridge program, which provides access to problem gambling and mental health resources, is currently groundbreaking, but it may soon become the norm.
