Caesars Accepting Early Mobile Sports Betting Wagers in North Carolina on Casino Grounds
The pre-registration phase for North Carolina sports betting apps began on Friday, leading up to the official launch on March 11 at noon. Caesars has been granted permission to start accepting mobile wagers in advance of the launch date.
Utilizing its partnership with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and a provision in the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, Caesars, a leading sports betting site in North Carolina, began accepting mobile sports betting wagers at two state casinos on March 1.
On Friday, Caesars issued a press release stating that their sports wagering platform, Caesars Underscoreg, has officially launched legalized mobile sports betting in North Carolina. This milestone was achieved through a partnership with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and is currently available exclusively at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee, NC, Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel in Murphy, NC, and on surrounding tribal lands. This app is the first of its kind in the state and is operating under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
What it all means
Caesars is now accepting bets for individuals aged 21 and over in the North Carolina market. The remaining seven top sports betting apps will be able to offer sports betting options starting on March 11.
That being said, in order to take advantage of the top North Carolina sportsbook promotions and place bets at Caesars, you must be physically present on tribal lands at either “Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee, NC, Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel in Murphy, NC, or on the surrounding Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians tribal lands.”
Getting an early 11-day lead on other top sportsbooks could result in significant gains for bettors, prompting them to utilize a Caesars promo code and place their bets there first before considering other options.
Relationship paying off
Caesars was the sole sports betting provider with a presence in the state prior to the legalization of mobile sports betting.
Since 2021, it has partnered with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to offer physical sports betting opportunities.
“The collaboration between the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and Caesars Entertainment has grown and solidified over time,” stated Michell Hicks, Principal Chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. “We are excited about the opportunity to bring mobile sports betting to North Carolina, providing a unique and exciting experience for all sports enthusiasts.”
Eric Hession, president of Caesars Digital, expressed gratitude for the partnership with Harrah’s Cherokee properties, stating, “We are thankful for the opportunity to offer wagering as part of our longstanding relationship with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. With the sports calendar heating up, there is much to be excited about. Thank you to the National Indian Gaming Commission, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, the North Carolina State Lottery Commission, and its Sports Betting Committee for making this day possible.”
