Circa Sports, based in Las Vegas, has secured a jersey patch sponsorship deal with the Chicago Blackhawks, bringing the sportsbook more NHL exposure. While none of our top sports betting apps have ventured into advertising on NHL jerseys, Circa Sports is taking the leap with this partnership.

On Tuesday, a press release announced that the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL have inked a multi-year agreement with Circa Sports, which will result in the Circa Sports patch being displayed on the team’s jerseys. Beginning in the 2024-2025 season, the prominent presence of Circa Sports branding will be seen on the Blackhawks’ home uniforms.

Circa secures its second partnership with an NHL team in Chicago, making them the first patch partner of the team. The sports betting provider already has their patch featured on the Vegas Golden Knights’ home jerseys.

Derek Stevens, CEO of Circa Sports, expressed his excitement and sense of responsibility in partnering with an Original Six hockey team and a team known for its iconic home jersey. As a lifelong hockey fan, he is thrilled to showcase the new Blackhawks jersey alongside the young and dynamic team.

Circa making a splash

Circa Sports is a legal sports betting brand that may not be as well-known outside of the Nevada sports betting scene, but it also operates in the Illinois, Colorado, Iowa, and Kentucky sports betting markets.

Circa’s presence in Illinois includes retail locations at American Place in Waukegan, and the company is one of the Illinois sports betting apps operating in the state.

Circa Sports will unveil its jersey patch with the Blackhawks during the upcoming NHL Draft, a high-profile event happening in Las Vegas at the end of this week.

Jaime Faulkner, Blackhawks President of Business Operations, expressed excitement about the increasing popularity of sports betting among fans. She is proud to welcome Circa Sports as a partner, as they share the goal of expanding interest in the game and providing fans with unique experiences.

NHL and sports betting relationship continues to evolve

In recent years, the NHL’s stance on a partnership with the legal sports betting industry has shifted significantly, despite its previous outspoken opposition.

Many of North America’s top sportsbooks, including BetMGM, Caesars Underscoreg, ESPN BET, FanDuel, and theScore Bet, have official sports betting partnerships with the NHL.

NHL teams in states with legal sports betting platforms are increasingly forming patch partnerships. Following similar deals between the Vegas Golden Knights and Circa, the Washington Capitals and Caesars, and the Arizona Coyotes and Gila River Resorts & Casino, the Circa-Blackhawks partnership has also gained popularity.
