Responsible Gaming efforts are making waves in the expanding North American legal sports betting industry, with DraftKings leading the way by appointing its inaugural Chief Responsible Gaming Officer.

Lori Kalani was announced on Monday as the new appointee for the role with DraftKings Underscoreg. Her responsibilities with the company will now revolve around promoting and implementing player safety and protection measures for the sports betting giant.

DraftKings CEO and co-founder Jason Robins, to whom she will directly report, stated that responsible gaming is a top priority for the company and a key aspect of their mission to create enjoyable games for customers to play responsibly. In her leadership position, Lori will continue to enhance their responsible gaming efforts and maintain their dedication to establishing new industry benchmarks.

Who is Lori Kalani?

Lori Kalani’s extensive experience in multiple companies will be invaluable in her new position as DraftKings’ Chief Responsible Gaming Officer. She is the first to hold this role in the growing U.S. legal sports betting industry, and her decisions will be closely watched and analyzed.

Kalani joins Cozen O’Connor law firm as a former partner with a background in social media and previous experience as co-chair of the State Attorneys General division in her practice.

In her new role, Kalani brings with her a wealth of experience in gaming, hospitality, telecommunications, and healthcare.

Her extensive experience and talent for collaborating with lawyers, state attorneys general, and regulators across multiple states made her the ideal candidate to pioneer the latest role in the American iGaming industry.

Kalani expressed her enthusiasm about her new role at DraftKings, stating that she sees it as a chance to enhance the company’s efforts in promoting responsible gaming. She looks forward to collaborating with colleagues, regulators, industry professionals, and community advocates to reinforce DraftKings’ commitment to responsible gaming and create a safe gaming environment for all customers.

Continuing the Responsible Gaming focus

DraftKings has been leading the way in promoting Responsible Gaming initiatives nationwide and is expected to make significant strides with its recent addition. Kalani’s appointment is anticipated to enhance DraftKings’ commitment to top-notch consumer safety and protection measures.

DraftKings, a top sports betting app, recently expanded its partnership with Kindbridge Behavioral Health to provide better access to therapy options for users who have self-excluded due to problem gambling. As of April 1, DraftKings users can now easily access mental health assessments and personalized Kinbridge treatment.

This initiative will be implemented in all 25 states where DraftKings operates, as well as in Ontario, which is Canada’s only legal sports betting jurisdiction.

DraftKings has introduced a new responsible gaming tool called ‘My Stat Sheet’ to assist bettors in making informed decisions on their bets. The tool also emphasizes a focus on Responsible Gaming. Users interested in checking it out can do so while taking advantage of our DraftKings promo code.

Future access?

DraftKings’ responsible gaming initiatives are expected to support the company in its goal to grow its legal sports betting operations beyond the current 25 states and expand its online casino presence, which is currently limited to a few states in America.

Creating a strategy to combat problem gambling will enhance DraftKings’ appeal to states interested in implementing a comprehensive iGaming platform.

The recent steps taken towards promoting responsible gaming by this company have established a significant precedent for all other providers operating in the competitive U.S. market.
