ESPN BET was recently named the official sports betting partner for the PGA Championship golf tournament at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky. This groundbreaking partnership marks the first time a major golf championship has had an official sports betting partner. Major golf tournaments like the PGA Championship always generate extra excitement and betting opportunities on our top sports betting sites.

PENN Entertainment’s ESPN BET brand successfully promoted the integration of sports and betting, leading to increased acceptance and popularity. The partnership will continue through the 2025 North Carolina tournament and the 2026 Pennsylvania tournament, solidifying ESPN BET’s presence in both states’ sports betting markets.

“We are excited to announce our partnership with the PGA of America as their first-ever gaming partner,” stated Jason Birney, vice president of operations for PENN Interactive. “By aligning ESPN BET with this esteemed men’s golf major, we anticipate creating dynamic opportunities to showcase our brand on the course and during the PGA Championship broadcast on ESPN.”

PENN Entertainment secures a prestigious event to sponsor, while the PGA TOUR gains a top sports betting partner to promote the thrilling tournament. Before the event, bettors should consider using our ESPN BET promo code.

In a press release, Jeff Price, the chief commercial officer of the PGA of America, expressed his pride in partnering with PENN Entertainment to incorporate ESPN BET into the spectator experience at the PGA Championship. Price stated that the addition of ESPN BET’s onsite presence, along with broadcast and content offerings, will offer spectators exciting new ways to enjoy and engage with all the action during the tournament.

Expanding the presence

ESPN BET, in addition to the well-established presence of ESPN, will receive additional benefits from its recent partnership with the PGA Championship at one of golf’s most prestigious events.

The tournament will be broadcast on NBC, with ESPN airing part of each round daily. ESPN will have live on-site coverage and provide in-depth coverage before, during, and after each round.

ESPN will heavily feature BET odds in its weekend coverage, with a focus on betting angles throughout the tournament.

ESPN BET will be highlighting its brand activation over the weekend with a special “Members Lounge” located near the 13th green. This exclusive hospitality area will be reserved for ESPN BET account holders, both current and new, and will include attractions like a virtual reality simulator of the 13th hole.

Timing is everything?

The PGA Championship/ESPN BET partnership comes at a challenging time for PENN Entertainment’s wagering brand following a lackluster quarterly earnings report released last week.

The report led to a decision to enhance the integration of ESPN BET offerings across all ESPN platforms. Showcasing its name at the PGA Championship venue is a positive step towards achieving this goal.

ESPN BET’s announcement coincides with criticism from one of its top on-air personalities, Pat McAfee, who recently ridiculed the product for its slow growth since its launch in 2023.
