The long-awaited launch of ESPN BET has been finalized with the establishment of the “what” and “where” over the past few months, and now the official launch date has been confirmed.
During its third-quarter earnings report on Thursday, PENN Entertainment revealed that ESPN BET is set to launch on Nov. 14.
“We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of ESPN BET just in time for the busy Thanksgiving week sports schedule, which features the NCAA college football rivalry week and the highly anticipated Super Bowl rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles on ESPN’s Monday Night Football,” stated Jay Snowden, CEO and President of PENN Entertainment, in a press release.

How we got here
The rumors circulating for weeks about the ESPN BET brand capitalizing on the highly anticipated Super Bowl rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles have been confirmed as true on Thursday.
For years, ESPN has included betting content on its TV networks and website, with features like game odds and segments on SportsCenter discussing sports betting.
ESPN partnered with PENN Entertainment, a leading legal sports betting operator, on August 8 in a $1.5 billion agreement to launch the ESPN BET brand.
ESPN BET will be taking over for Barstool Underscoreg, the brand that PENN had previously collaborated with in 17 states.
The agreement between PENN Entertainment and ESPN BET is set for a duration of 10 years.
Where will we see ESPN BET?
ESPN BET is still awaiting final approval in each state where Barstool Sports had a presence, but it is expected to be just a formality thanks to its partnership with PENN and the credibility of ESPN as a recognized sports entity. The only state that has delayed approval is Massachusetts, which recently put a hold on giving the green light to the betting brand.
ESPN BET will be available live in the upcoming states:
- Arizona
- Colorado
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Iowa
- Kansas
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
- Maryland
- Michigan
- New Jersey
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- Tennessee
- Virginia
- West Virginia
Gamblers residing in these states can anticipate receiving lucrative ESPN BET promo code deals that rival those offered by top sportsbooks.
