Fanatics Underscoreg Rolling Along
Fanatics Underscoreg recently finalized a $250 million deal to acquire PointsBet USA’s assets. Despite the ink barely drying on the agreement, the sports apparel brand turned sportsbook is already taking assertive steps to establish itself as one of the top sportsbooks in the fiercely competitive U.S. market.
Last week, Fanatics Underscoreg completed beta testing in Ohio, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Tennessee, officially launching their highly anticipated sports betting product to all bettors in those states.
Fanatics has opened a retail sportsbook in a new professional sports venue this week and has received approval to launch in a reliable sports betting state in the future. The company’s app is now live in four states.
Cleveland Guardians and Progressive Field partnership
Fanatics Underscoreg quickly established itself as one of Ohio’s top sportsbooks, wasting no time in making a significant impact. Last week, it was revealed that the sports betting brand will be launching a retail sportsbook in collaboration with the Cleveland Guardians and Progressive Field, further solidifying its position among the state’s premier sportsbooks.

Progressive Field is the second Fanatics retail sports betting location in Ohio, following the success of Fanatics’ Columbus location, which was established through a partnership with the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets.
This new opening marks the first retail sports betting location at an MLB park for Fanatics Underscoreg. Additionally, Fanatics also operates a retail sportsbook at FedExField in Maryland, the home of the NFL’s Washington Commanders.
Cleveland Guardians Vice President of Corporate and Premium Partnerships Ted Baugh expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership with Fanatics Betting and Gaming to open a retail sportsbook location near Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland. Baugh believes this will offer fans a convenient in-person betting option.
The retail facility features two betting windows, four self-service wagering kiosks, and seven TV monitors. This state-of-the-art 600-square-foot space allows Fanatics bettors to place wagers, even without a ticket to a Guardians game.
Pennsylvania bound
Fanatics Inc. has received approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to begin sports betting operations in the state, pending the completion of the transition from PointsBet. Pennsylvania is on track to become the fifth state in the country to feature a Fanatics Inc. brand, with plans for further expansion in the future.
It is still unknown when the transition from PointsBet to Fanatics will occur, but the beginning of every NFL season is always a key focus for a sports betting company.
The rebrand aims to revitalize a PointsBet product that dropped to ninth place among active sports betting providers in the Pennsylvania market in July, with hopes of boosting its performance.

What’s next for Fanatics?
After securing partnerships with two of Ohio’s five professional sports teams and expanding into Pennsylvania, Fanatics has set ambitious goals for the future.
The acquisition of PointsBet USA for $250 million grants the company market access to 12 U.S. states, including Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, and New York. New York is the largest market and primary focus for the company. Before launching in these states, PointsBet will need approval from the regulatory boards, as they did in Pennsylvania.
Anticipate rapid progress in that area, with Fanatics poised to remain in the spotlight in the upcoming weeks and months.
Fanatics is set to make a big impact on the national legal sports betting scene in the coming months. With established competitors like FanDuel and DraftKings, as well as the new player ESPN Bet entering the market, Fanatics will need to work hard to stand out and attract customers.
