Brooklyn Nets Favorites to Keep Kevin Durant

The chances of Kevin Durant remaining with the Brooklyn Nets at the beginning of the 2022 NBA season are now the lowest at DraftKings.

On June 30, Durant asked to be traded from the Nets, causing a significant shift in the odds for which team he will join next at the sportsbook.

The Phoenix Suns were initially seen as the top choice to sign Durant, but now their odds have improved to +200, while the Nets are now the favored choice at -150.

Phoenix ultimately decided to match the offer sheet Deandre Ayton received from the Indiana Pacers last week, making them less likely to be a trade partner due to Ayton’s large contract and restrictions on trading him until at least January 15th.

This development is significant as Durant is signed with Brooklyn for the next four seasons, giving the organization the option to either disregard his trade request or wait for the most favorable trade deal to come along.

Recently, Senior NBA Insiders Shams Charania of The Athletic and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN have refrained from commenting on any trade discussions involving Durant or any teams that may be interested in him.

Additionally, following speculation that the Boston Celtics may be interested in Durant, their odds have increased from +1400 last week to +1800 to acquire the star forward.

If the Nets delay trading Durant, it becomes more likely that he will start the 2022 season with the team. DraftKings seems to agree with this, as they have made adjustments to their betting market.
