New Hampshire players have bet nearly $8.5 million on the Boston Celtics during the team’s postseason, with around 300,000 bets placed on some of the top sports betting sites as of June 9. 90% of these bets are in favor of the Boston Celtics winning the NBA Finals.

The New Hampshire Lottery featured popular bets on NBA playoffs, such as predicting if Michael Jordan’s 63 points or Damian Lillard’s 12 made 3-pointers in a single postseason game would be beaten. Local players also supported Jaylen Brown for Finals MVP and Luka Doncic for highest scorer in the series.

Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery, expressed his excitement for the Boston Celtics and their potential 18th championship win. He mentioned the increasing betting activity and revenue being generated for public schools in New Hampshire during this NBA playoff run. McIntyre ended by cheering on the Celtics with a “Go C’s!”

It is anticipated that the increased interest in betting on the Boston Celtics will help increase the state’s sports betting handle, which fell below $60 million for the first time since August 2023 in April, despite the NBA playoffs starting on April 20.

Since 2019, New Hampshire has allowed legal online and retail sports betting, with DraftKings as the sole sportsbook in the state due to an exclusive partnership with the New Hampshire Lottery. Residents can sign up using our DraftKings promo code.
