Victor Wembanyama Over 3.5 blocks (-110 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐
Wembanyama has little chance of catching up to Rudy Gobert, who is currently the clear frontrunner for the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award.
The young star for the Spurs has positioned himself as a top contender for the award next year. Throughout the season, he has excelled in blocking shots and has been a dominant presence in crucial moments. Wemby leads the league in blocks with an impressive average of 3.6 per game, significantly higher than the next best player at 2.4. In three of his last four games, he has recorded at least seven blocks, showcasing his defensive prowess.
After achieving a triple-double with 10 blocks on Feb. 12, the top pick has been averaging 4.7 blocks per game. He has recorded at least four blocks in 14 of his last 23 games (60.8%). Despite leading one of the NBA’s top offenses, the Nuggets allow 4.9 blocks per game, which places them outside of the top 10 in fewest blocks allowed.
Wemby has been averaging 5.3 blocks per game in the three matchups against Denver in the 2023-24 season. In the most recent game, he recorded nine blocks.

Although Wembanyama has been exceptional during the 2023-24 season, he cannot single-handedly carry the Spurs. This is why San Antonio’s defense continues to struggle.
The Spurs have struggled defensively, allowing the sixth-most points per game (118.9) and ranking 22nd in defensive rating (119.2). They have particularly struggled defending in the paint, where Jokic excels as a scorer. San Antonio is giving up the third most 2-pointers per game in the NBA (32.3), with opponents shooting 55.4% from inside the arc.
Despite having Wemby in the frontcourt, the Spurs have struggled against big men. They give up the second-highest points per game in the NBA to centers (26.12), and Jokic is a particularly challenging matchup.
He is the frontrunner for the MVP award, averaging 26.6 points per game in the 2023-24 season. In his latest game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he scored 41 points, marking his seventh game with 29 or more points in the last 11 games. Throughout this impressive stretch, he is averaging 30.9 points per game.
We are choosing to bet on Jokic scoring over a certain number of points in the game, despite San Antonio’s tendency to allow a high number of rebounds to centers. This has also led to favorable odds for Jokic’s combined points and rebounds total. We prefer the odds at Caesars for Jokic’s points, which could pay out $19.62 if he scores 29 points. Jamal Murray Over 2.5 made 3-pointers (+165 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐
Several Nuggets players have the opportunity to have a big game against San Antonio’s defense, and Jamal Murray is in an ideal position to be one of them.
The over/under for his 3-pointers made is set at 1.5 on our top sports betting sites, with odds of -180 indicating a 64.28% chance of him making at least two. We are considering the alternate line on bet365, betting on Murray taking advantage of the weak Spurs perimeter defense.
