Next, he will face off against the inexperienced Yariel Rodriguez, the starting pitcher for the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Yariel Rodriguez Under 3.5 strikeouts ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rodriguez has demonstrated moments of strong strikeout ability, as evidenced by his 9.2 K/9 rate, which surpasses the 2024 league average of 8.4 by a tier or two.

However, his comeback from an injury in a recent game against the Cleveland Guardians was disastrous. Rodriguez gave up four earned runs in just 1 1/3 innings and struggled to find his command, issuing three walks in a short amount of time.

He had his second consecutive game with three walks and his third game with two or fewer strikeouts. When you add in his struggles with walks and the likelihood of a short night due to being on the injured list, it’s a recipe for a low strikeout total. Rodriguez was pulled from the game after just 52 pitches against the Guardians.

Justin Turner Under 1.5 total bases ⭐⭐⭐

Justin Turner has shown a mix of impressive and disappointing performances in 2024. He started off strong with an OPS of .887 in April and currently sits at .878 as June comes to an end. However, his numbers took a nosedive in May, dropping to .349.

While his recent recovery has been impressive, it has been lacking in power. Turner’s increasing OPS can be attributed in part to his frequent walks, including three in the recent games against Cleveland. However, he has only managed to hit four extra-base hits in June.

Even with his impressive ability to make contact with the ball at an older age, it’s hard to have confidence in a batter with a low hard-hit percentage of 30.8, ranking in the 11th percentile.
