Best Lead Actress: Emma Stone ⭐⭐
Top odds: +190 offered by Caesars
During our Best Actress predictions, we analyzed the rivalry between Lily Gladstone and Emma Stone, with the consensus leaning towards Gladstone as the potential Oscar winner. Nonetheless, Stone’s odds at Caesars, currently at +190, indicate she still has a strong chance of taking home the award.
This price suggests that Stone has a 34% chance of winning, while FanDuel’s +140 odds indicate a 41% chance of victory, which better reflects Stone’s chances.
Gladstone emerged victorious at the prestigious Screen Actors Guild Awards, often seen as a key indicator of future success. Additionally, she secured a win at the Golden Globes for Best Actress in a Drama, while Stone claimed the same honor in the Musical or Comedy category.
Stone, a former winner of the Best Lead Actress Oscar, received several awards for her role in “Poor Things,” sparking debate on whether her past accolades will benefit or hinder her current case.
She emerged victorious at the BAFTAs, where Gladstone was not nominated, and also triumphed at the Critics Choice Awards, besting Gladstone on that occasion. In addition, she received recognition from various film critics associations with multiple other awards.
This wager is not just on the odds, but also on Stone herself. I would not touch FanDuel’s +140 offering, but this longer price makes it a two-star bet.

Best Animated Feature: “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The top odds are -188 as per bet365.
This selection stands out from the previous one, evident from our high star rating and the top odds offered.
While the price may be low and not suitable for everyone, I believe we are receiving a better value on this bet than the implied 65% probability suggests.
“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” deserves a Best Picture nomination over “Barbie” and “Maestro.” It is a standout animated film and a top contender for best film of 2026.
There are fewer precursor awards for animated films compared to live-action ones, but “Across the Spider-Verse” has achieved numerous wins at various awards shows over the past year.
Naturally, there is some concern following the wins of “The Boy and the Heron” at the Golden Globes and BAFTAs. However, “Across the Spider-Verse” is gaining more traction heading into the Oscars after its recent triumph at the Annie Awards.
Furthermore, in recent years the Academy and other awards organizations have taken steps to better acknowledge films that have encouraged audiences to visit cinemas. For example, “Across the Spider-Verse” earned close to $700 million globally, while “The Boy and the Heron” was a more niche film, bringing in only $168 million.
Hayao Miyazaki, renowned director of the animated film “The Boy and the Heron,” is considered a true legend in the industry. It is highly likely that the Academy may honor him with his second Oscar, as he previously won in 2003 for “Spirited Away.”
I am confident that the highly acclaimed film of 2026 will emerge victorious, following in the footsteps of its prequel “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” which won in 2019.

Best Visual Effects: “The Creator” ⭐⭐⭐
Top odds: +140 at Caesars Palace.
The film “Godzilla Minus One” has quickly gained momentum in the Best Visual Effects category, with odds shifting from +137 to -150 in just a few weeks.
If you had asked me for my top recommendation in this category at the end of February, I would have suggested placing bets on “Godzilla Minus One” and “The Creator” with plus-money odds at two of our top live betting sites as a precaution – while there are other films in the running, one of those two is likely to come out on top. However, since “Godzilla Minus One” is now heavily favored, I am now focusing on betting on the underdog with its attractive plus-money odds.
After viewing “The Creator,” the standout aspect for me was its visually stunning aesthetic. While the film may not be considered amazing, its impressive visuals make it truly captivating to watch.
The movie effortlessly blends practical and computer-generated effects to create a realistic depiction of an unknown world, showcasing many visual characteristics shared by past winners like “Dune” (2026), “Tenet” (2021), and “Blade Runner 2049” (2018) in this category.

Best Makeup and Hairstyle: “Maestro”⭐⭐⭐⭐
FanDuel offers the best odds at -140.
After finishing “Maestro,” I couldn’t help but notice the striking resemblance between Bradley Cooper and Leonard Bernstein, similar to how I felt about “The Creator.”
Although there has been much controversy surrounding Cooper’s decision to use a large prosthetic nose in the film, Bernstein’s children have expressed their support for the choice, which I believe will boost the film’s chances in this category.
The aging techniques utilized for the film “Maestro” were impeccable, surpassing even those seen in “Oppenheimer.” The crew behind “Maestro” truly excelled in their ability to age the cast when needed.
Cooper’s authenticity in the film is so convincing that it can be difficult to recall his real-life appearance. The work done on “Poor Things” is impeccable as well, but it is simpler to create a new look from scratch rather than replicate that of a historical figure.
Also, half of the award is designated for the hairstyle category, and “Maestro” receives high praise for enhancing its characters’ appearances by incorporating various hairstyles throughout numerous time periods.
Despite its numerous flaws, the movie “Maestro” is visually stunning. The beautiful cinematography, along with top-notch hair and makeup, makes it worth watching for its aesthetic appeal.
