Forecasting the victor of a WNBA game is not as simple as just examining the previous game, however, it can provide valuable insights in the event of a back-to-back rematch.
Seattle’s Storm defeated their opponent at Climate Pledge Arena on Saturday, taking a commanding 13-point lead at halftime before securing a 97-76 victory. This marked their third consecutive double-digit win, showcasing their potential as the “superteam” they were projected to be at the start of the season.
However, Dallas suffered their seventh double-digit loss in a 1-12 stretch, largely due to injuries impacting the team’s performance. Despite having Arike Ogunbowale and Natasha Howard back on the court, the Wings lack enough depth in their rotation to compete with the top teams in the league.
Seattle has consistently outscored Dallas by an average of 12.6 points per game, and Saturday’s game only confirmed my beliefs about both teams. Even if the margin of victory isn’t as large in the next matchup, I still anticipate Seattle to come out on top comfortably on Monday.
