The Houston Rockets suffered a disappointing defeat against the Dallas Mavericks, missing the chance to secure their group and advance to the quarterfinals.

Wednesday’s NBA player props

Jusuf Nurkic 4-plus assists vs. Raptors (+145 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The upcoming matchup between the Phoenix Suns and the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday will likely see Kevin Durant returning to the Suns’ lineup after missing the last two games due to a foot injury. Durant’s presence on the court alongside Devin Booker and Eric Gordon creates opportunities for Jusuf Nurkic to excel as a facilitator on offense. This is evident in Nurkic’s increased assist average compared to his time with the Portland Trail Blazers, showcasing his ability to take advantage of the open space in the middle of the floor when playing alongside these talented teammates.

Since the Raptors are starting Jakob Poeltl and Pascal Siakam in the frontcourt, Nurkic should see plenty of minutes on Wednesday night. The Suns will rely on his size to help with rebounding, especially against the Raptors who are known for their strong offensive rebounding.

I see Nurkic as a high-risk, high-reward player when it comes to his assist prop. That’s why I’m looking to bet the alternate Over on his total at FanDuel, as I think he has the potential to have a big game against the Raptors.

Nurkic is expected to have 3.7 assists on Wednesday, slightly below the required four. However, the +145 odds offered by FanDuel for him to have 4 or more assists are enticing enough for me to place a bet. With this projection in mind, we can estimate the odds of Nurkic achieving 4 or more assists on Wednesday at -105.
