The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics, who are no strangers to facing off in the playoffs, will kick off their Round 1 NBA playoff series at TD Garden. Check out our Heat vs. Celtics player props, which are based on the top NBA odds.

The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics have a fierce rivalry, meeting in the playoffs for the third consecutive season. Although each team has claimed an Eastern Conference Finals victory in their last two matchups, the Heat are now considered significant underdogs in this series.

The Celtics dominated the regular season with a league-leading 64-18 record and are currently healthy. On the other hand, Miami barely made it to the playoffs as the No. 8 seed, but will be missing their star player, Jimmy Butler, for an extended period.

As we prepare for the 2024 NBA Playoffs, we offer our top player props and picks for the Heat vs. Celtics matchup. Our selections are based on odds from leading NBA betting sites, with confidence levels rated on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.

Tyler Herro Over 33.5 points + rebounds + assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Herro has been averaging 31.6 points, rebounds, and assists (PRAs) this season, surpassing his averages of 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. He dominated the Chicago Bulls in Friday’s game, putting up 43 PRAs after recording 36 against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

In just 14 out of 42 regular season games, Herro managed to hit the Over. However, he has been successful in four of his last six games while maintaining an average of 35.1. His performance against Boston this season has been impressive, averaging 33.7 points in three games, with a standout 40-point game at TD Garden. With Butler out and Rozier potentially missing another game due to injury, Herro will need to step up and be the hero for the underdog Heat.

Jayson Tatum Over 41.5 points + rebounds + assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tatum achieved the Over in 30 out of 74 regular-season games, with an average of 39.9 PRAs. Despite his team’s depth, we trust that Tatum will shine in the playoffs as superstars tend to take control. We have high expectations for Tatum to deliver a stellar performance at home.

In the last two playoff games against Miami, he has played 14 games and averaged 40.5 points, rebounds, and assists. He exceeded expectations in eight of these games, or 57.1%. Our FanDuel odds suggest a 50.5% probability, indicating a valuable play.

Nikola Jovic Over 1.5 made 3-pointers ⭐⭐⭐

In his second year, the player has performed admirably this season, averaging 1.4 three-pointers in 19.5 minutes per game. He has started in his last 28 games and has increased his three-point average to 1.7 in those matches. While his playing time has varied as a starter or substitute, in the 13 games where he has played at least 25 minutes, he has averaged 2.5 three-pointers, surpassing the Over seven times.

Jovic played 27 minutes in Friday’s victory and is expected to receive significant playing time again on Sunday due to Butler’s absence. Rozier’s possible return is not likely to impact Jovic’s minutes much as they play different positions. The implied odds of this scenario are 41.7%, and a $10 bet could result in a $14 return. Considering Jovic’s past success with increased playing time, this bet offers good value.
