ACC Tournament Odds 2024: Long Shot NC State Wins 1st Title Since 1987

NC State achieved a historic victory in the ACC Tournament by defeating the odds and winning for the first time since 1987 as a long shot in college basketball.

NC State (22-14) appeared to be a long shot to make the NCAA Tournament when they entered the ACC Tournament this week. However, five days later, Kevin Keatts and his team secured their spot in the Big Dance and made history in the process.

NC State’s victory over rival North Carolina on Saturday, despite being the underdog according to top March Madness betting sites, allowed them to achieve the rare feat of winning five games in five days to secure the conference tournament title. The only other team to accomplish this was 2011 UConn, which went on to win the national championship.

The Wolfpack are still considered tournament long shots by the latest March Madness odds at our top sportsbooks, just as they were before the ACC Tournament. NC State entered the 2024 ACC Tournament as a 100/1 long shot, but after winning five games in five days, they secured their first conference tournament victory since 1987.

The odds for the 2025 ACC Tournament are expected to be released in early March, just before the conference tournament. Regular-season ACC odds are likely to be available sometime this summer.
