The Chicago Bears, led by quarterback Justin Fields, head to Kansas City to take on the defending champion Chiefs. Check out our top predictions for the Bears vs. Chiefs game based on NFL odds from popular sports betting apps.

Halas Hall has had quite the tumultuous week. Following their 0-2 start, Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Alan Williams suddenly retired due to health and family concerns. Additionally, quarterback Justin Fields sparked controversy by appearing to criticize the coaching staff and suggesting it was hindering his performance by making him play in a “robotic” manner.

There is much to consider, as the Bears face a tough challenge in Week 3 against the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. Even though the fires may have died down, a loss would significantly impact their playoff chances. Traveling to Arrowhead Stadium will not make things any easier for Chicago.

Below is our top prediction for the Bears vs. Chiefs game, along with our NFL picks and odds from the best NFL betting sites. Our pick confidence is rated on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.

Bears vs. Chiefs prediction

Justin Fields Over 58.5 rushing yards (-114 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fields expressed his intention to forget about everything and just play football the way he knows how to after a disappointing performance in the previous game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Before Week 2, we trusted Fields when he mentioned he would be taking more risks with his throws, which resulted in our successful +105 bet on him throwing an interception. We are sticking with this strategy in our NFL Week 3 predictions after Fields expressed his desire to rely more on his instincts.

We will not debate here whether he is taking the right approach after starting 0-2, but we will seize the opportunity when the player hints at how Sunday’s game may unfold.

As a dual-threat quarterback, Fields ranked seventh in rushing yards in the league last year with 1,143 yards, surpassing Christian McCaffrey, Aaron Jones, and Austin Ekeler. Additionally, he holds the record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a single regular-season game.

Fields has exceeded this humble rushing total in 10 out of his last 12 games, with the most recent being the 59 yards he gained in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers. Critics are placing too much emphasis on the low total Fields achieved against the Bucs, a team known for their strong rushing defense, consistently ranking in the top three over the past four years.

The third-year quarterback hinted that he had been told to stay in the pocket more, but now he plans to play more freely after receiving approval from head coach Matt Eberflus.

“We want him to feel that presence in the pocket,” Eberflus said. “When he’s under pressure and sees an opportunity to either execute a scramble drill, make a downfield throw, or take off and run, that’s what we’re looking for.”

Coach, we would also like him to do that.

The initial total of 48.5 has dropped to 48 at many books and 47.5 at Caesars due to both teams’ recent low-scoring games. Currently, there is an even 50/50 betting split on the Over/Under.
