The Bengals defense has been giving up an average of 256.1 passing yards per game this season. In four of their last five games, they have allowed opposing passing offenses to exceed this mark. Throughout the season, Kansas City has been on the lookout for dependable pass-catchers to support Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Recently, rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice has started to see more consistent playing time in the offense.

Rice’s snap share didn’t reach 75% until Week 14, but he has now maintained it for three straight games. He has also received nine or more targets in five consecutive contests. Ja’Marr Chase has reached a receiving total of 59.5 yards in all but five games this season, making it a realistic goal for him in most situations. However, there is concern about the possibility of Chase reinjuring his shoulder, as he has dealt with various injuries throughout the season. If the game is not going well for Cincinnati on Sunday, there is a chance that Chase could leave the game early once again.

Additionally, Chase faces a challenge due to the Chiefs having the second-best passing defense in the NFL. Kansas City has only allowed an average of 173.8 passing yards per game, making it difficult for opposing wide receivers to perform at their usual levels. Notable receivers such as Devante Adams, Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen, and Tyreek Hill have all struggled to meet their typical receiving statistics when playing against the Chiefs’ secondary this season.
