As the 2022 NFL regular season began last weekend, low scores emerged as a prominent theme. We analyze whether this trend will persist in Week 2 with our top NFL Over/Under picks.

Despite half of the games having betting lines below 45 points on the schedule, Week 1 turned out to be a profitable one for NFL betting fans who bet the Under. The Under paid out in 10 out of 16 contests.

High scoring games are anticipated for Week 2 primetime matchups. Yet, injuries from Week 1 have caused some teams to struggle, leading to lower Over/Under predictions for multiple games.

Below are our top selections for the best Over/Under wagers for NFL Week 2, featuring odds from BetMGM, Caesars Underscoreg, and FanDuel Underscoreg.

NFL Week 2 O/U Predictions

Bengals-Cowboys Under 43 (-110)

The starting total for the Dallas Cowboys’ Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals was a high 50.5, but has since dropped significantly due to Dak Prescott’s injury. It is now uncertain how low the total could potentially go for this game.

Prior to Prescott’s hand injury, the Cowboys had difficulty advancing the ball, only making it past the 50-yard line once before halftime and three times total in the game. With Rush and Grier now at quarterback, they face a tough challenge against the Bengals defense, which held the Steelers to just 267 total yards.

Despite their potential, the Bengals struggled on offense in Week 1. Quarterback Joe Burrow, who led the team to a Super Bowl appearance last season, threw four interceptions. Additionally, the much-anticipated rebuilt offensive line failed to protect Burrow, resulting in seven sacks. While the Bengals have the talent to be a high-scoring team, they need to work on coming together as a cohesive unit.

Colts-Jaguars Under 47 (-110)

In recent years, it has become increasingly certain that the Indianapolis Colts will lose when playing on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts have not secured a road victory against the Jaguars in eight years, and have only averaged 14.9 points per game during their current 0-7-0 straight-up streak.

Despite the experienced quarterback Matt Ryan leading the offense, the Indianapolis team showed no improvement in their recent 20-20 tie with the Houston Texans. Although Ryan struggled initially, he was able to throw a touchdown in the fourth quarter to salvage the tie, accumulating 352 passing yards in the game.

Ryan should prepare for a tough matchup against the formidable Jaguars defense, which intercepted Washington Commanders QB Carson Wentz twice last week. Despite giving up two fourth-quarter touchdowns, the defense remains solid. Even if the Colts manage to score, those betting the Under can benefit from the Jaguars offense led by Trevor Lawrence, who made several mistakes in their season opener that probably contributed to their loss.

Bears-Packers Over 42.5 (-110)

The Chicago Bears had a perfect start to the NFL season with a thrilling 19-10 comeback win over the San Francisco 49ers in a rain-soaked game at Soldier Field. Quarterback Justin Fields came through in the clutch, throwing a 51-yard touchdown pass to Dante Pettis, which made up a significant portion of his passing yards for the day.

Nonetheless, it is unlikely that the Bears’ defense will be able to replicate their strong performance when they face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday night. Historically, these teams have a tendency to put up high-scoring games in primetime, with the total points exceeding 47 in four out of their last five meetings.

Furthermore, with a determined Aaron Rodgers looking to redeem himself after a disappointing showing in a 23-7 defeat against the Minnesota Vikings last week, we could be in for the most thrilling and closely contested primetime showdown between these longtime rivals since the Packers’ dramatic 24-23 comeback victory in Week 1 of the 2018 season.
