Both teams are in a tight race for the playoffs, making this game crucial for their postseason hopes. The Broncos, trying to secure their spot, must take on the division-leading Lions, setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown as both teams fight for a pivotal win.

After rebounding from their defeat to the Houston Texans, the Broncos dominated the Chargers in Los Angeles. Denver has now won six of their last seven games and currently holds the same record as the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, and Texans. The competition in the AFC is intensifying.

The Lions suffered a tough defeat in their previous game against the Bears in Chicago, falling 28-13. Despite the loss, Detroit remains atop the division with a 9-4 record and is looking to bounce back in a crucial primetime matchup at home.

Naturally, our top prediction for Saturday Night Football focuses on the speedy Jared Goff. Despite only gaining 21 rushing yards on 29 attempts, we believe that his rushing yardage total holds more value than his rushing attempts.

Out of the 13 starting quarterbacks who have faced the Broncos this year, 11 have surpassed this number. The only two who did not achieve this feat, Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert, did not even attempt a single carry.

In all nine projection models, Goff is expected to rush for at least 2.3 yards. Seven models project him to run for three or more yards, with five of those predicting over 4.5 yards. NumberFire has the highest projection at 6.83 yards, and Goff’s average rushing yards projection across all models is 4.43.

The odds at bet365 indicate a 50/50 chance, but our projections show a different story. I would be cautious about betting on this if Goff’s average projection was only two yards, but we have a significant advantage in this situation.
