Both teams are heavily invested in the playoff race, making this game critical for their postseason hopes. The Broncos, aiming to strengthen their standing, are up against the division-leading Lions, setting the scene for a high-stakes showdown as both teams fight for a pivotal win.

After their road loss to the Houston Texans, the Broncos bounced back by crushing the Chargers in Los Angeles. With six wins in their last seven games, Denver now has the same record as the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, and Texans. The AFC race is getting intense.

The Lions suffered a tough defeat in their last game against the Bears in Chicago, losing with a score of 28-13. Despite this setback, Detroit remains at the top of the division with a 9-4 record and is determined to bounce back in a crucial primetime matchup at home.

Naturally, our main prediction for Saturday Night Football focuses on the speedy quarterback Jared Goff. Despite only gaining 21 rushing yards on 29 attempts, we are choosing to focus on his rushing yardage total rather than his attempts due to the value it offers.

Out of the 13 starting quarterbacks who have faced the Broncos this year, 11 have exceeded this number. The only two who did not surpass it, Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert, did not even attempt a single carry.

Goff is projected to rush for at least 2.3 yards according to all nine projection models. Seven of the models predict he will run for over three yards, with five of them estimating over 4.5 yards. The highest projection comes from NumberFire at 6.83 yards, while his average rushing yards projection across all nine models is 4.43 yards.

The odds at bet365 of +100 imply a 50/50 chance, but our projections indicate otherwise. I would have reservations about playing this bet if Goff’s average projection was only two yards, but we have a significant buffer in this situation.

This game could get intense if the Lions are able to run down the clock at the end, but the potential payout at our top sportsbooks makes it worth the risk.
