The Tennessee Titans are set to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in a matchup where both teams are seeking their first win of the season. Our top prediction for the Chargers vs. Titans game is based on the most trustworthy NFL odds from our top sports betting apps.

In their season-opening loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Los Angeles Chargers excelled offensively, particularly in the running game. The team rushed for 233 yards and scored three touchdowns. However, the defense struggled, giving up a league-high 466 passing yards, ultimately leading to their defeat.

Despite Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill throwing three interceptions in Week 1, the team managed to only lose by a narrow margin of 16-15 to the New Orleans Saints. The Titans’ defense was impressive, especially against the run, allowing just 69 rushing yards.

Will the Titans be able to contain the Chargers in Week 2?

Chargers vs. Titans prediction

Under 45.5 (-110 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

Even though Justin Herbert and the Chargers’ passing game usually get all the attention, the team’s offense demonstrated a shift towards a run-heavy approach in 2023. In Week 1, Herbert threw for 229 yards, but the rushing attack stood out with a league-leading 233 yards.

Both Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelley carried the ball 16 times, resulting in a surprisingly balanced distribution that contributed to their success. While Ekeler’s availability for Sunday’s game is uncertain, offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has emphasized the importance of maintaining balance within the group, whether or not their lead back is on the field.

On the other hand, the Titans’ offense is limited to running the ball. In Week 1, Tannehill’s completion rate was less than 50%, and his three interceptions played a significant role in the Titans’ defeat.

Defense will be the key factor in this game. The Titans have a strong run defense and a solid secondary. Although the Chargers allowed over 500 yards in Week 1, they were facing a top-tier offense and should fare better against Tannehill and the Titans.

There is some uncertainty surrounding the potential for an upset in this competition, but Kelly Gage has shared her NFL Week 2 upset picks, and Stewart Serena is presenting her NFL Week 2 survivor picks.

DraftKings and FanDuel are both offering a total that is half a point higher than BetMGM, Caesars, and bet365. Betting the under is equally affordable at either sportsbook.

We believe DraftKings has a slight advantage because they are offering a better price for the Titans to cover. It is recommended to wait before placing your bet, as the odds may increase due to the Chargers’ performance in Week 1.

Chargers vs. Titans odds analysis

The initial total was set at 45 and has remained consistent at three out of our top five sportsbooks. Currently, 59% of the bets have been placed on the Over. It is expected that this percentage will increase over the week and could possibly reach around 46.5.

The Chargers started as 3-point favorites and have maintained that position all week, with 60% of bettors favoring them to cover. However, oddsmakers are favoring the Titans despite the higher cost for bettors. It appears they are going against public opinion and supporting the home team. It is likely that the spread will soon decrease to 2.5 points.
