Cross-sport predictions for Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl-NBA: Chiefs to have more team rush yards than Celtics team points (+100 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

The Boston Celtics rank fifth in scoring in the NBA, with an average of 120.6 points per game. In their two matchups against the Miami Heat this season, they scored 119 and 143 points. Despite the Celtics’ high-scoring offense, the Heat have the fourth-best defense in the league, allowing only 110.8 points per game.

The Chiefs have leaned on Isiah Pacheco for their rushing game, ranking 18th in the NFL with an average of 108.3 yards per game. However, they have surpassed 140 yards rushing in two out of their three postseason matchups.

The 49ers are holding opponents to an average of 97 rushing yards per game, but they are also giving up 4.3 yards per carry. If the Chiefs continue to rely on Pacheco, they should be able to surpass 140 rushing yards, even if they are trailing early in the game. With odds at +100 through DraftKings, it is a good bet to support the Chiefs in surpassing the Celtics.

Super Bowl-NHL: Chiefs to have more total TDs than Capitals total goals (+115 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

The Chiefs have been averaging only 2.3 touchdowns per game this season and have scored just two touchdowns in two out of their three playoff games. However, even against a defense as strong as the 49ers’, the Chiefs are expected to score more touchdowns than the Washington Capitals score goals.

The Capitals rank as the third lowest-scoring team in the NHL with an average of 2.37 goals per game. Their opponent on Sunday, the Vancouver Canucks, has one of the best defensive records in the league, allowing only 2.57 goals per game, tied for the third-best mark.

The Chiefs must strive to score touchdowns instead of settling for field goals, a pattern that has occurred frequently this season. If they can reach the end zone three times, they are likely to secure a victory. If you predict they will only score twice, you may want to consider placing a bet on the “tie” option, which has odds of +425.

Super Bowl-PGA Tour: Scottie Scheffler Round 4 birdies vs. SB LVIII total touchdowns: Tie (+650 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐

Scheffler scored five birdies in both of his first two rounds at the WM Phoenix Open. While he might not maintain this level of consistency in the fourth round, it is a strong start, especially compared to the Super Bowl total.

The Super Bowl’s total point prediction is 47.5 with a -2 spread, suggesting a final score of either 24-23 or 25-23. In both outcomes, the Chiefs and the 49ers are expected to score a total of five or six touchdowns.

At odds of +650, obtaining this tie presents an excellent opportunity for value. Even if Scheffler’s performance slightly declines in the fourth round, he is still expected to make at least four birdies in the final round of a tournament he has won in the previous two years.

It would not be surprising if four touchdowns were scored in the Super Bowl, given the strong defenses of both teams.
