Now that the major offseason transactions have been finalized, we are reviewing the latest NFL odds for the 2024 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award.

Christian McCaffrey, in his first complete season with the San Francisco 49ers, won the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award after being a finalist twice in his first six seasons. He is currently a top choice at many of the leading sports betting sites as we move through the offseason.

There was a lot of movement in free agency at the start of the offseason, with some signings affecting the top 10 contenders.

The ex-New York Giants running back has decided to join the Philadelphia Eagles, while standout wide receiver Justin Jefferson will soon be catching passes from either Sam Darnold or a rookie quarterback. Former QB Kirk Cousins has left for the Atlanta Falcons.

Let’s take a peek at the initial betting lines for the 2024 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award from top sportsbooks, as well as a summary of the previous year’s outcomes.

Favorites to win NFL Offensive Player of the Year

Christian McCaffrey (+900 via FanDuel)

McCaffrey, who won this award last season, is the leading candidate to win again in 2024, and it is evident why.

After dominating with the Carolina Panthers, the former top-10 pick reached new heights in the Bay Area. McCaffrey led the league in touches (339), scrimmage yards (2,023), and total touchdowns (21) in 2023, averaging an impressive six yards per touch.

If you’re considering fading McCaffrey, keep in mind that he is entering his age-28 season, which could raise some concerns for his position. Additionally, it’s worth noting that no player has won this award consecutively since Marshall Faulk achieved the feat from 1999 to 2001. Therefore, it may be wise to hold off on betting on McCaffrey to repeat his performance at such a high price.

Justin Jefferson (+1400 via DraftKings)

In 2022, Jefferson earned the award for leading the league in receptions (128) and receiving yards (1,809). Additionally, he topped the league in yards per touch for both 2021 and 2022.

In 2023, he quietly improved his performance, with an average of 15.4 yards per touch and 107.4 receiving yards per game, surpassing his award-winning season in 2022. However, he only played in 10 games and was limited to just 13 snaps in one game before getting injured.

Jefferson must maintain his health in 2024, regardless of the quarterback, but he will likely face competition from either veteran Sam Darnold or rookie J.J. McCarthy for passes.
