Saints vs. Rams NFL player props: Thursday Night Football

Kyren Williams Over 88.5 rushing yards (-110 via bet365

If you haven’t been keeping up with Williams’ ascent to the top tier of NFL running backs, grab a seat on Thursday and prepare your popcorn.

Williams, a second-year back from Notre Dame, has quickly made a name for himself in the league. He leads all running backs in yards per game (95.3) and success rate (59.7%) through 15 weeks, and ranks second in yards before contact (617) and third in broken tackles (20) despite sitting out four games.

In his last five games, he has been consistently averaging an impressive 131 yards per game. He surpassed this total by at least 25 yards in four of those games and finished with exactly 88 yards in the fifth. Notably, he achieved this feat against tough defenses, including the league’s top-ranked defense in Cleveland and the second-ranked defense in Baltimore where he recorded 114 yards.

Now he is up against a Saints defense that has traditionally been known for its ability to stop the run, but has struggled with inconsistency this season. Last week, New Orleans held Saquon Barkley to one of his lowest rushing totals ever (14 yards) in a lopsided victory. However, the limited number of rushing attempts (nine) and snaps (31) for Barkley can be attributed to the negative game script for the New York Giants.

Before this, the Saints had given up a minimum of 113 rushing yards in eight consecutive games and have allowed the second-highest rushing yards per game (154.1) and per carry (5.0) in the NFL since Week 6. Williams has received 73 out of his team’s 89 handoffs in the past three weeks, making him a strong candidate to capitalize on Thursday.

This prop is priced higher at FanDuel and has worse odds at BetMGM, Caesars, and DraftKings, making the odds at bet365 more attractive compared to other top sports betting sites.

Matthew Stafford Over 1.5 passing TDs (-125 via bet365

Stafford struggled in eight of his first nine starts, but he has recently been playing at an elite level, resembling one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks. It is no surprise that his touchdown production has also improved significantly.

Stafford has been the league leader in passing touchdowns with 12 since Week 12, and he has thrown for multiple touchdowns in all four games during that time. Additionally, he ranks in the top five in passing yards with an average of 265 yards per game and has made nine big-time throws. He also holds the second highest passer rating among starters at 112.6, behind only Brock Purdy, the favorite for NFL MVP, over the past four weeks.

Stafford has been on fire lately and I believe he will continue to shine against the Saints, who have struggled against top quarterbacks this season. I anticipate Stafford will exploit the weaknesses in the New Orleans secondary just like other elite QBs have done.

Most projection models predict that Stafford will throw between 1.65 and 1.80 passing touchdowns. We are confident in placing a bet of -125 odds with bet365, as other top live betting sites are offering this prop bet at higher odds ranging from -135 to -160.

Alvin Kamara Over 29.5 receiving yards (-114 via FanDuel

I had not planned on betting three Overs for this game with a modest total between 45.5 and 46.5 on our best sports betting apps. However, when I saw this prop total, I was shocked and almost spit out my drink.

The team at FanDuel consistently offers player props that differ from the market consensus, including setting Kamara’s receiving total three yards lower than other top sportsbooks. Additionally, Kamara leads all running backs in receiving yards per game with 40.5 and has surpassed this total in nine out of 11 starts, showing an 81.8% success rate.

The main drawback of this bet is that Los Angeles is giving up the fewest receiving yards to opposing running backs (20.3), leading to a low total. However, I anticipate the Saints will utilize Kamara in various roles due to injuries to wide receivers Chris Olave (ankle) and Michael Thomas (knee).

Kamara has led the team in receiving yards twice in his last eight games, accumulating at least 40 yards in six of them. Despite facing his toughest matchup of the year, he is expected to have plenty of chances to succeed.

On Wednesday at 2:10 a.m. ET, player props were set for the Saints-Rams game on Thursday Night Football.
